Slowly but steadily NVMe technology is getting towards a storage performance stage where these units (much like SATA3) also are running into system bottlenecks. With the new 64-layer NAND Samsung can increase volume size with less space used, but also is able to bump up read performance a notch.
The 970 Pro may be the best drive around – and better for creatives and high-end work users – but the vast majority of people should buy the Samsung 970 Evo SSD. In day-to-day situations you just won’t notice the slight lack of speed – and you’ll save some cash.
Samsung's 970 EVO 2TB is the first SSD we've tested that comes armed with 512Gbit (64GB per die) flash. How does it perform?
Samsung 970 Evo 1TB: A lower price saves this M.2 SSD, which isn’t as fast as expected, from a mediocre fate

Good price, Still relatively high performance, Exceptional durability

Speeds not as fast as hoped, Previous ten-year warranty now only five
Across the board the new 970 Evo is not only better than the 960 Evo, but it also out-performs the 960 PRO in some important tests. More IOPS, quicker writing and the same TBW at the largest capacity. With the possible exception of the 970 Pro; this is the NVMe SSD to buy… if you can afford it.
I purchased this M2 card based on reviews and trusted recognition in the M2 SSD market. I can not say how happy I am. The speed and reliability cant be beat. My new PC build is blazing thru everything I put on it. Windows loads super fast and my games are showing no lag in loading.
I set this up to replace a "conventional" SDD, seeking greater speed. Noticeable improvement. My computer was 4 years old, so I flashed the BIOS first to get the latest for compatibility. If using with WinX, be sure to use the Samsung driver available on their website for best performance.
Installed recently on a new AMD Ryzen rig, and was my first NVME drive. Speed and performance is fantastic, top 5% performance when run through userbenchmarks.com. Samsung Magician software is excellent too, with a very detailed and intuitive interface that allows for quick access to key usage...
Hands down best SSD I've ever owned. Upgraded from a 850 Evo 2.5 SSD to this was a huge improvement. Not only storage size, 500GB to 1GB, but also the read/write speeds are in the upwards of over 2GB/S! I definitely will stick with Samsung for my next SSD/NVMe purchase.
This NVMe M.2 has such an amazing speed rate. If my workflow completely changed when i started using regular SSD, now has changed again, for even better! Windows 10 boots in 1.9 seconds, my Adobe softwares work so much faster. Best acquisicion was the best in years. Definetely recommend!
I needed more space for games and wanted something easy to install and separate from the SSD my Windows install is on. This worked perfectly. If it doesn't show up when you install it just google a formatting guide. I had to format it to actually use it but other than that I have no complaints.
I have four of 1TB drives configured in RAID 0 on a PCI card for video editing and the read and write speeds are incredible. The response is instantaneous and I can playback any resolution file up to 12K at 60FPS or higher. Excellent drives!
This SSD is almost as fast as a significantly more expensive Samsung 970 Pro. I won several Samsung SSDs (850 Pro, 960 Pro, 970 Pro and several 970 Evo), and this one is the champion in performance/price ratio. Highly recommended.
You can't beat this samsung m.2. It's so fast and so reliable, it crushes transfer rates and works incredibly well for anything you may need it for. To be honest I wouldn't use something this fast as a boot drive because it is meant more for storage and recall because of how fast it is, so if you...
i have had this drive for about a year and a half now... i had it for about 3 months and then i kinda messed it up in the bios. still dont know what happened. it started making hdd noises and killed itself when booting back into windows.
