The Rokinon 85mm F1.4 AF Sony E costs a lot less than Sony's G Master 85mm and captures just as much light, but is held back by spotty autofocus accuracy.

Inconsistent autofocus accuracy, Visible chromatic aberration, Bulky, Focus breathing
This long-focus, wide aperture lens is perfect for portraits, and pretty good, although long, for a walking about lens. The only drawback is the weight, but if you carry a Nikon F3 with the motor drive, (as I do...) you should be used to weight!
I had done enough research to satisfy my curiosity about the product and was not disappointed in it at all. It does what it says it does and that's all there is to it. The lack of autofocus might be a problem for some but it is clearly labeled and marketed as manual focus so this shouldn't be a...

Blurry Focus
I love this lens! starting from the price, to the aperture, to the quality of my images. its my first 1.4 and I cant go back now, absolute beautiful separation of my subjects. If you can take an extra moment to breathe and allow the manual focus, focus peaking, and zebra technology your sony 7...
I'm very satisfied with the performance of this lens. It's sharp wide open and contrast is pretty nice.

As the DOF is very thin for a 85/1.4 lens, accurate focus is critical. I also have Zeiss Plannar T* 85/1.4 and Zeiss Sonnar T* 85/2.8 - all three lenses are wonderful.

Manual focus only
I wanted a 135mm equivalent lens for those times I can't zoom with my feet. The Fujifilm lens for too expensive for my limited use (I tend to shoot wide, not telephoto). I shoot landscapes, not portraits. Therefore manual focusing is not a problem.
Great lens for the price. The manual focus forces you to take more time to take the picture and think more about composition and posing. It seems to be at it's best wide open to about f2.8. It would be nice to have it chipped so it relays aperture and focal length back to camera.

Nice Bokeh, Rugged, Strong Construction
Lens is very good in terms of build and pictures quality. Though it requires time for slow and careful creative process. Probably I would consider it for a studio. To me it is not a right choice for a family picturing with children or pets, which cannot seat and wait while you are getting into a...
