This macro optic provides an angle of view equivalent to a 150mm on a 35mm format camera, when mounted on a Pentax Digital SLR. It sports a fast f/2.8 maximum aperture, life size magnification at its closest focusing distance, weather resistant construction and costs around £515.
The image quality of this lens is superb and the lens is very well made: it really feels and handles like a precision instrument. It is weather-sealed and can be used in adverse weather and perhaps more importantly, in environments with dust and pollen without any worry about getting dust on the...
I am a hobbyist, not a professional. I fumble, puzzle, scratch my head and occasionally stumble backward into taking a decent photo. I enjoy the process. As comparison is the thief of joy, I will not (nor can I) wage this lens against another brand's macro lens. I bought it. I'm happy with it.
One of the first three lenses I purchased with my new K-1 and while I have had it only a short time, my first outing with it exceeded my expectations for clarity and speed. Combined with the light weight water-resitant construction, I expect this to remain a go-to lens for years to come.
Pro-quality, weather resistant macro lens that's great for APS-C or full frame. It's a 150mm macro on my K-3 and 100mm on my K-1. Light weight; great for hiking. Lowest priced of all brands. This lens cannot be beat.
I am having a lot of fun with this lens. Using it with a K3, I am able to get decent photos of insects in the field under challenging conditions - wind, fast moving insects, and low light (I do use a light ring).
Amazing Macro lens. Extremely satisfied with speed and results.
While I love macro photography, I bought this primarily for portraiture. I'm very pleased! It's a beautiful lens and is very sharp. Yes, the auto-focus motor is loud; but in situations where the noise would become an issue, I just pop it on manual focus. I'm very happy with this purchase!
Real nice lens for portrait, very sharp! Macro is great for flowers and butterfly's. all in all excellent lens!
Amazing Macro lens. Extremely satisfied with speed and results.
Looking forward to using this for its macro applications.
Awesome! Even for a novice like myself!
