Pentax SMC Pentax DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6 ED WR Zoom Lens

Solidly built long zoom lens, with a metal mount, smooth, but firm zooming, and focus shift. I hike a lot, being weather resistant is a plus.

Pentax makes some nice little lenses. These are weather resistant and fairly cheap as they don't have vibration control in the lens as the camera has it. As there are not many aftermarket lenses for Pentax cameras this a very good choice.

This lens works fine in good lighting and yeilds great pictures for those who know how to use it within its limitations. Don't expect to pay this price point and get the results of a fixed f/2.8...you wont.

Great lens for my Pentax! Best lens for everything outdoors and portraits! Works beautifully on both manual and automatic.

Would be nice to have a little spacer between the focusing ring and the zoom ring, otherwise its a great lens that takes great pictures.

Its just over 2 weeks now, I received this item, the construction quality is impeccable, and image quality is also very good. I just clicked few pics inside the house in low light it was good, but I took for a ride to the zoo, the quality of the images was too good, even in auto mode.

Solid lens, as usual, I didn't expect anything less from Pentax. It has a good zoom range and it feels solid in my hands. WR is a definite plus, as the lens is best used outdoors.

Knowing that I needed an automatic focusing mid-range telephoto lens to augment my Tamron 55-210mm lens from my film based Pentax cameras, I looked very closely at the specs for lenses on the market in this category.
