This 2.9x telephoto zoom lens covers the popular 70-200mm range on a 35mm camera and provides a focal length roughly equivalent to a 107-307mm range when used with Pentax APS-C DSLRs.
As you might expect, this lens is a highly competent, highly specified lens, with all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a high end manufacturer's own lens.

Got this lens to use instead of my 60-250, hoping to get better auto focus for sports photography. Wow, what a difference! This lens finds the mark, and quickly. Mainly I shoot at 2.8 to isolate subject from background, and this is working well as 2.8 is very sharp.
Excellent lens. Was able to hand hold with no noticeable degradation in quality.
I dont normally write reviews as I dont think of myself knowledgable enough. However I am writing what I would have liked to hear prior to my purchase: this lens is not a replacement for primes, you will not get the same IQ regardless of its Pentax star rating.
I bought this for use on the K-1 and love it. Image quality is excellent from corner to corner up and down the zoom range (even at 200 and wide open), focus is silent and quick, it's a pleasure to use, and built like a tank--this thing will survive the zombie apocalypse.
I have only had this lens for 1 week so far, and I used it to snap around 200 photos this past Sunday for a St. Patrick's Day Parade in my neighborhood. I must say it is a beast to hold handheld for a few hours, and a good sling strap is recommended but it seemed extremely sharp to me from 70mm to...
Very sharp even wide open, this is quickly becoming my favorite lens over the 77mm limited. I did have to dial in some AF adjustment on my K1 for the focus point to be dead on, but I do for most of my lenses so I suspect the problem is from my K1.Awesome lens!
First off, I tried this lens on all 3 of my Pentax k3 bodies. Sometimes the subject was in focus. Most often the subject was out of focus or VERY soft. This occurred whether I used the lens handheld, with a monopod, or with a tripod (an old Bogen with a Manfrotto head that I used when shooting with...
