The new 35mm-format or “full frame” Pentax K-1 is now with us, and here we have the HD Pentax-D FA 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR standard zoom to go with it. This is the least expensive of the kit options and also the lightest and most compact of the initial batch of full frame zoom lenses.
I wanted a digital zoom lens for my new K-1, having only older FA limited lenses and not wanting to shell out almost the same amount as I did on the camera. It focuses very quiet and fast, it takes good pictures outdoors, as stated buy another review, get the DA F 24-70 f2.8 if you plan to do any...
Whether you're using it on a current APS-C Pentax or the new full frame K-1, you'll find the Pentax 28-105 to be very satisfying across the range, corner to corner and dead center. It's surely one of the better 28-105 lenses that have been produced over the years and miles ahead compared to most kit...
I bought this to use as a general purpose , walk around lens. It fits the bill perfectly. Great image as well as build quality. I was considering the 24 ~ 70. I am extremely happy with my choice . I use this lens with a Pentax K1-II.
i was between dfa 24-70 and dfa 28-105. i tried both but finaly i went with dfa 28-105 for its versatill and of sure for the price. the lens is sharp even at 28 mm and very sharp at 70 mm. it is my walk around lens and for this reason it is on the camera all most the time.
I use it for routine photo outings, hiking, and trekking. Lightweight & Weatherproof, so good for hiking and trekking. It could be wider at the lower end and longer at the upper end but considering the light weight it is a very nice lens to have. Much lighter than the better Pentax 24-70
