This super-telephoto zoom from Panasonic covers a range equivalent to a 200-600mm lens on a 35mm camera, focuses internally, includes optical image stabilisation and costs around £460.

The LUMIX G VARIO 100-300mm F4.0-5.6 MEGA O.I.S. is the first super telephoto lens for the Micro Four Thirds system, and at £549.00 / $599.95 it's certainly an affordable one given the massive focal range on offer.

I am a nature photographer and I was looking for something smaller and lighter so I ended up with the Panasonic G85 camera. I was looking for a decent lens to do nature shots and after reading a few reviews I ended up buying the 100-300mm II.

Wow! Super fast autofocus, good in moderately low light, and lightweight. I wind up using this paired with Panasonic G85 more often than Sony a6500 with Sigma MC-11 and Canon 70-200mm.

The combined OIS and IBS stabilization on my Panasonic G85 gives thislens at least 5 stops of increased sharpness. The hand held photos ingood light look like they were taken on a sturdy tripod. This is a fun lens to walk around. Just get this lens.

I don't think there is a better bang for the buck lens out there for the G line of cameras. The image stabilization of this lens rivals that of my canon 100-300 and still has a very good picture for video all the way out to 300.

While not the equal of the Panny/Leica 100-400 this is a very good lens, especially considering the price. It's very sharp from 100 to 200, and only very slightly less so at 300. Honestly, when you consider that this is a 200-600 "equivilant" (angle of view only) it's a great addition to your kit.

Awesome lens, and not bad in low light. I'm a big fan of the Lumix line of m4/3 cameras and lenses, so I was eager to receive this long lens. The image crispness is terrific and works well at interior events.

This lens is very sharp and is solidly constructed. The splash and dust resistance makes it a good pair with a weatherproof body. It also gives a nice out of focus effect when at 300mm. The lens is very big and heavy, but that is to be expected for a lens with these focal lengths.

Excellent lens, well stabilized and renders superb images hand held. The Tiger was shot through bars, so contrast is not the best. The Giraffe was in deep shade; as was the Puma in its lair. Performance in all lighting conditions was superb. The image stabilization is best in class.

I am new to serious photography and use this lens with a GX85. Auto focus works great in good light. Still struggle with action photos, birds in flight. Focus peaking seems not to work. Maybe the shallow depth of field. Manual focus does fine. Two lightly processed photos follow.

If you're looking for an upgrade on your street-photography lens... you absolutely can't beat this thing. It's only true weakness is the low light performance from its rather tight f/4; but even that is an upside because it is constant f/4. Truly the best m4/3 lens in my opinion.
