OM SYSTEM OM-D E-M1 Mark III Mirrorless Digital Camera (Body Only)

There's a risk of the E-M1 III being seen as a repackaged E-M1X or a refreshed E-M1 Mark II but, like the recent E-M5 update, I think it's valuable to take a step back and look at the totality of what it offers, rather than worrying about whether you've seen some of the specs before.

The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III is the ultimate professional camera for general practice photographers. There are superior dedicated sports cameras, but it can certainly keep pace with them on the court – and there's more to being "pro" than shooting action.

We still need to test the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III on the court. However, In terms of sheer specs, this camera is a winner. The 20.4MP sensor may be old, but it delivers great image quality with more megapixels than the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III.

The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III, offers what some might see as an incremental upgrade to the OM-D E-M1 Mark II , however, the E-M1 II (and Panasonic Lumix G9) are still, to this day, some of the only cameras to offer 60fps continuous shooting at 20mp.

This is a review of the beautiful little hot shoe cover that graces the E-M1 mark III. Some of you may say that it's a hot shoe cover like any other, or that the only purpose of a hot shoe cover is to fall off and disappear, but that's all untrue.

I want to start by saying that my photography has been centered around the Olympus family for the past several years. I started with the E330, the first true live-view (8mp) camera on the market and then moved onto the E3, which I really loved.

I’ve had the E-M1iii (EM1.3) only for a couple of weeks and photo taking in the present climate is a bit limited, so this is an initial review. First a confession. Over the years I’ve has several Oly bodies, the latest being a M1.2 about 18 months ago.

Very recently, I posted a review of EM-1 MK3 manual. It has been loved by some and hated by others. Those who hated it objected the low rating of the camera, just because I did not like the manual. They split into two groups.

Olympus, I am a retired scientist that had to write many technical reports for different purposes and different audience. I am also a user of Olympus equipment for 8 years. I know how to use EM-1 Mk1 reasonably well. I even learned to live with the menus.
