Olympus's Micro Four Thirds superzoom is, typically, the smallest in its class, and has respectable image quality too. It's a fine general purpose and travel lens, although Panasonic camera owners should take note of the lack of optical image stabilisation

  • +

Relatively small and lightweight for its type, Respectable image quality for a superzoom (very good indeed from 25mm to 45mm), Fast, practically silent autofocus, Attractive bokeh (when you can get it)

  • -

Rather high chromatic aberration at each end of the zoom, Corners rather soft at wideangle, Slightly plastic build for the price, Flash shadowing at wideangle, Lens hood not included, For Panasonic camera users, no optical image stabilization

Handling and features This superzoom lens for Micro Four Thirds system cameras offers a 10.7x zoom range equivalent to a 28-300mm lens on a 35mm camera. It costs around £400 and sports Olympus' MSC silent focusing motor and a slim, compact and lightweight design.

The Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f/4-5.6 II is a modest but worthy upgrade to the 5-year-old M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f/4-5.6 lens. The biggest improvement is the addition of dust and moisture seals, which means the lens can be used safely in wet and dusty environments alike, as long it is...

Superzoom lenses are not usually known for delivering excellent quality images, and are instead, normally considered a bit of a compromise. This 14-150mm lens from Olympus bucks that trend, delivering excellent sharpness in the centre of the frame throughout the zoom range.

  • +

Excellent sharpness in the centre throughout the zoom range, Compact size, Lightweight, Silent autofocus, Falloff and distortion are well controlled, Good value

  • -

No lens hood supplied as standard, High CA levels when stopped down to f/11 or beyond at 14mm

When I bought my E-M5 II, I wanted the maximum resolution the system could give so I bought the PRO line of lenses, and the resolution of these lenses was excellent. However, I found that taking the camera with me on a day-to-day basis meant either being confined to a relatively narrower zoom range,...

This is a terrific lens! Sharp, compact and weather sealed to go with my OMD em5 mkII. Perfect compliment to the Oly Zuiko 14-42mm. Highly recommended for all levels of photographers, beginners to pros.

I purchased this lens to use when traveling as I was interested in having the weight and size advantages, as well as the zoom range. I debated getting the 12-100 pro lens but my experience with super zooms taught me that having greater range was more useful for me.

Bought this kit for when I walk the dog, run errands around town, and take short trips. The 14-150mm represents a wide range and delivers very nice images. The 17mm is very fast and has great corner detail. I typically use these two lenses with my EM5 Mark II and they form a very light kit.
