What can I say but WOW!...........Very easy to set up and install. My son bought this without me knowing,Had the SSD ready for a return but it was so well made. I am keeping it now and canceling the return. thanks OWC great product. John
The OWC kit was easy to use with a 2011 MacBook Air that had 64 GB of factory SSD. I had previously updated it to 10.8 and needed the 10.8 update image to reinstall system. Then the Migration Assistant worked as advertised. One additional thing that OWC web pages didn't mention is that you should use...
have problem in envoy storage system. It disconnect unexpectedly.
Installed, and it appears to functioning normally, no issues as of yet.
After about 5 years the main storage chip poped off.
very easy to install. The screwdriver sent along was indeed very handy. The case for the old hard disc is amazingly professional
Very fast IOPS and works as advertised. Just watch their videos and read the directions for transferring your old slow Apple SSD to this faster SSD
Bought two of these drives for me and my wifes Macbook Air 2011 in October 2013. Both are now dead. RMA'd twice and none of the drives work ($40 shipping x 2). Went through a ton of trouble shooting with OWC to no avail. They tried to be helpful but you can't fix a terrible product.
We were directed to this product after visiting the Genius Bar. Relatively easy install and migrate with a little planning. Don't forget to back up your data and have your product keys and log in information available before you start.
The installation was easy as pie...and then I was left with pie on my face when the drive failed literally with first boot. Fortunately I had made a time machine backup. If this is an example of their drive reliability i say no thank you. Thank goodness for amazons return policy !!
