The OEM drive that came with the Macbook Air (A1304) is smaller than an standard 1.8 hard drive. It uses a ZIF connector and it's enclosed in a rubber case and a special chassis that's screwed down into the board.
This drive is perfect for improving the performance of 2007-2008 MacBook Air. My MacBook is now faster than it was originally. I am very pleased with the conversion.
Kind of a tight fit, You will need to carefully bend the cable (as shown in the picture) But it does work and it makes the older Macbook faster.
Easy to install. No issues fitting my mid 2009 MBA. Very fast drive, bring life back to a computer that was lagging behind. Was about to buy a new laptop when I decided to give this a try and I'm glad I did.
fits in MacBook Air (2009) and is a good replacement for increase in speed over hdd. bought to replace failing hdd, but still having some issues (though possibly unrelated) after install trackpad and keyboard are often unresponsive after sleep.
Somewhat of a bear to install because it did not match any instructions I could find online but made it work nonetheless seems to be fine now and laptop is much faster and is actually usable so I give it four stars
It's only been a couple weeks, but it made an out-of-date MacBook Air a new computer. I was debating between retiring this old MacBook Air and buying a new one or breathing more air into it. I chose wisely thanks to this drive.
Any SSD will work with any MAC product as long as it has a 1.8 inch drive. This is a misleading sale, and sellers want you to think your mac has specific hardware. 1 star. Save your money and buy quality products.
Shipped to me with defective/detached MBA cable. Broken off connector wouldn't allow hard drive to be attached to board during a tear down off MacBook. Box even had an "inspected" sticker on it. Not happy at all.
