This is a ridiculously nice lens, ideal for both portraits and landscapes. Wide open the subject is pin sharp, the superb bokeh just wipes out the background into a dreamy blur of colors and shades. Stopped down to f7.1 it is Nikon's sharpest landscape lens at this focal length range.
This is the only Nikkor lens I have used that reminds me of the Leica glass I used to use. The results are unique. No it is not the "sharpest" lens made and the DC feature is somewhat obsolete with the advent of Photoslop, but pictures delineated with this tool at f2.0 are unlike any...

Expensive Compared To Similar Lenses
This is still one of the sharpest lenses produced by Nikon. Great portrait lens. The defects control takes a little bit of getting used too. Especially wide open. Practice with this lens. Learn how to use it and you will never be disappointed.
