This is a ridiculously nice lens, ideal for both portraits and landscapes. Wide open the subject is pin sharp, the superb bokeh just wipes out the background into a dreamy blur of colors and shades. Stopped down to f7.1 it is Nikon's sharpest landscape lens at this focal length range.

This is the only Nikkor lens I have used that reminds me of the Leica glass I used to use. The results are unique. No it is not the "sharpest" lens made and the DC feature is somewhat obsolete with the advent of Photoslop, but pictures delineated with this tool at f2.0 are unlike any...

This is the finest portrait lens I've ever used and I can't stop gushing about it. The picture quality is fantastic and it's increasingly more exciting to use everyday. Compared to a handful of other lenses I've tried and used, this is by far the best.

All the good you hear about this lens is true. It is built like a tank and outstandingly sharp. It can be pricey, but it is well worth it. Defocus Control is fun, but I don't think most users will use it much.

While the company does produce many cameras and lenses that are easily accessible by amateurs, there are also those pieces of equipment that are...

This is still one of the sharpest lenses produced by Nikon. Great portrait lens. The defects control takes a little bit of getting used too. Especially wide open. Practice with this lens. Learn how to use it and you will never be disappointed.
