If you're a sports, news or events pro or shoot hard, hot and heavy, you'll love the Nikon SB-910. The SB910 keeps belting out loads of light quickly. This isn't a classic Vivitar 285 ; the SB-910 recycles fast even at full power from 4 AAs.
These little flash stands work great. I own 5 stands for my flash units.
this is the top-range flash from nikon, and works very well with nikon d800,thanks

If you need a serious flash then just grab the Nikon SB-910 AF Speedlight Flash. Used by the press, wedding photographers etc it has the power output to use at a distance, bounce the light from ceilings or you can rig it up on a stand with accessories and use it like a studio light.
The SB-910 packs some serious power for a speedlight. The only negative I would mention is the size. It is considerably larger than the SB-700 and heavier as well.
It still solve your problem of holding flash/remote trigger, but I recomend the AS-19. That is smaller, more durable and has metal nut on bottom instead of plastic.
Bought as a replacement as I lost my stand for my SB-910. It works perfectly.
I love these little stands when shooting on location to position a flash. One interesting use is to use them to hang a flash from a height. Small and easy to slip into a pocket.
To be honest this Nikon Speedlight SB-910 Flash is expensive. But if price is not the issue for you then this is the flash you really need. It gets the job done, period. For both power and functionality this speedlight has it all, especially the ITTL feature. Plus, it doesn't overheat so easily.
In a nut shell, small, light, cheap, effective and with the slave function it allows creative flexibility. Perfect for when you need a flash on the go without the bulk.
