The Nikon D7200 is a great camera for the money, as long as you don't care about an extensive feature set.
-
+
Great photo quality, solid performance and a sturdy body are the Nikon D7200's highlights.
-
-
Subpar wireless implementation and a fixed LCD display.
The D7200 is the most serious D-SLR in Nikon's DX lineup, but it doesn't equal our Editors' Choice Canon 7D Mark II for capturing action.
-
+
51-point autofocus system. Dual SD card slots. Pentaprism viewfinder. Excellent control scheme. 1.3x crop mode available. Quick to turn on. Optional battery grip available. Crisp rear LCD. Sensor design omits optical low-pass filter. Very strong high ISO image quality.

6fps burst rate is slowest in class. Tops out at 5fps with limited buffer when shooting in Raw. Omits PC sync socket.
First, the good news: The D7200 is Nikon’s best APS-C DSLR to date, and with all its features, it’s a highly capable camera for terrific photography. If you’re looking for an enthusiast DSLR that takes great stills and is highly customizable, you won’t go wrong with this Nikon.

Excellent stills, Latest Nikon image processor, Very good ISO performance, Extensive customization, Wi-Fi, NFC

Big, bulky, No tilting touchscreen, Video frame rate only 30p, Difficulty grabbing focus for low-light video
The Nikon D7200 is the company's latest upper mid-range DSLR aimed at enthusiast photographers. Successor to the D7100, it slots between the D5500 and D610 in the range, making it the highest-end Nikon DSLR with a cropped DX-format sensor.
The Nikon D7200 will seem quite familiar to those who have worked with the forerunner D7100: indeed, the image sensor of the new D7200 is basically the same. It offers 24MP resolution, but now has a higher “standard” ISO range up to ISO 25,600 (which was the High or “push” mode” offered by the...
The Nikon D7200 is a powerful dSLR, providing excellent image quality and good performance. Offering more than an entry-level camera, it is worth the extra money if you are looking for the higher quality images and performance. Read more in our Full Conclusion .

Video recording mode takes time to get used to, No 4K video recording, Burst shooting came up just a little shy of the stated 6fps, Higher price tag for an APS-C sized sensor camera
Nikon's best consumer DSLR sees a handful of updates with the D7200, including enhanced ISO sensitivity.

Excellent noise reduction, Excellent image quality, Lots of physical controls, Very versatile, Fast, Accurate autofocus

Heavy, Controls confusing to a beginner, Contrast detection auotofocus in video mode
When we reviewed it a couple of years ago, Nikon's D7100 enthusiast DSLR thrilled us in almost every way, but a too-small buffer left us wanting just a little more. Now the followup Nikon D7200 is here, and this all-weather beauty no longer keeps us waiting thanks to a tripling of the buffer memory.
-
+
Rugged, weather-sealed body; Great ergonomics and loads of controls; Accurate optical viewfinder; Excellent image quality; Decent burst speed; Swift autofocus; Generous buffer depths; Superb battery life
-
-
Mixes plastic and magnesium-alloy panels on exterior; LCD monitor can't be tilted or swiveled; Presents a steep learning curve; No focus peaking in live view; Video mode feels a bit of an afterthought; New Wi-Fi features are rough around the edges
A full feature-set and solid performance — from autofocus to continuous shooting — are only some of the D7200's strong points. This DSLR also delivers excellent color rendition, sharpness and exposure, particularly at lower ISOs.
-
+
High image quality, relatively fast continuous shooting, well-suppressed noise at high ISO, weather-sealed body, dual command dials.
-
-
Limited manual exposure control for video capture, shallow handgrip, LCD doesn't tilt or rotate.
The D7200 is a gentle refresh of an excellent camera. The sensor sees improvements in dynamic range, AF works in lower light and the continuous shooting buffer lets you make use of its class-leading subject tracking.
Seriously. Moving up from the d3200 is a huge gain! How this camera performs with some fast glass is just amazing. It grabs focus in really dark settings. The iso performance exceeds my expectations. Combined with the battery grip it feels amazing.
I have owned a D7100 for the last two years and have taken almost 40,000 shots with it. I love the camera, but recently had a problem with the lens mounting that required sending the camera to Nikon for repair. I had looked at the D7200 in the past, but had not had a trigger to buy it.
I have had this camera for about 2 months now and can say only one bad thing about so far and it is really to be expected with a telephoto lens - it is on the heavy side. Fantastic camera. Comfortable to use except it is heavy because of the long lens.
-
+
Great camera and lens package at good price. Easy to use and allows you to take a lot different shots without changing and carting around extra lenses.
-
-
The telephoto lens combo just makes the camera front heavy and a little uncomfortable to carry around.
Initial results shooting outdoor under a wide range of lighting condition were very favorable.Liked the crispness of video.

Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD, Quiet

vignetting 18-140 lens
My previous camera was the Nikon D7000. The D7200 is a much better camera overall. Faster to acquire moving subjects (mostly birds). Locks on focus better. Is definitely sharper. Better low light capabilities. My capture rate has gone up and the photos I am producing now are sharper and clearer.

Very fast and sharp focus,
There are many options online to purchase this item. After many hours of research, Beach Camera had the best deal. The add on items with the camera put them on top. After the purchase they were super awesome with the shipping. Got here a few days quicker than I expected.

Love the new camera. Has much more ability than the D3000 I have been using for years.
-
-
So many buttons to learn. Not really a con, but the only thing I could think of.
Be sure to read the fine print. This is an international camera. Does not necessarily come with a charger that can be used in the USA. If you get the international charger only you have to contact Ritz. They refund you for the charger and postage.
Replaced an older Nikon camera body, so far this unit has fabulous picture quality and an awesome feature set
I was halfway through one of my long, detailed, and highly comprehensive reviews of this superb DSLR camera from Nikon, when I realized that all I really need to say is that the Nikon D7200 is the finest DX camera ever made...by anyone...EVER!
