Let’s not sugarcoat it; the D5 is a niche camera. Even if you’ve got the cash to splash, it doesn’t mean you should - it makes sense in the hands of a pro photographer, but beginners will be lost.

It was a difficult decision for me to purchase a D5 after owning a Nikon D810 for two years. I am not a professional photographer but a photography enthusiast. I shoot ~100,000 pics each year at high school sporting events, concerts, etc... I love my D810 and all that it can do.

I've owned the D800/D4/D4S and a few other NIKON DSLR but this D5 is very very good for sports and fast moving objects. And taking pictures at night.

I'm a professional photographer, working seven days a week, normally 8-12 hour days including editing. I don't have time to waste and can't compromise on image quality and need a fast workflow.

Is very good camera me I do landscape photographs I hope like next camera D5s or D6 (I don't know) to have 24 Megapixels, for me this resolution it's enough. Is necessary like Nikon to do new lens 14-24 mm which can read resolution over 18 Megapixels.

My 9 year old needed a new camera, she's inspiring to become a Instergram queen. She said this is what the professionals use and she needed it. So far the selfies have come out pretty clear. Been dropped a few times and seems really solid. She said it's too heavy and needs to lighter one.

I don't like where the iso adjustment button is and I don't like that pushing 1/2 way down on the exposure button only locks the focus and not the exposure too. Am I wrong about this?

This thing is a rocket. Have not had it in the field yet, just shooting around the house. I have found a noticeable difference between my D4s and the D5. It's ability to focus is amazing. I went with the CF version as i am not shooting super fast, 100 shot bursts.

I purchased the D5 about a month ago and have a few thousand shots on it.Truthfully, I'm still getting used to it. I'm coming from a D800 (Which is also excellent) because I wanted another tool to cover the higher frame rate and greater low light capability.

Bought for my sons b day. He loves it. Easy to operate and learn
