I think that the choice is pretty hard. Those, who hate compromises, will buy the Nikkor. For those who count every penny, the Sigma will be a better investment. Both lenses have great and similar capabilities, so either choice will be accurate and customer satisfaction in both cases is definitely...

perfect picture quality in the center of the frame, very good picture quality at the edges of the frame from the 80 mm to 135 mm focal length range, small chromatic aberration, perfectly controlled coma, almost completely absent distortion, small vignetting, great performance against bright light,...

  • -

slightly less sharp at maximum aperture, visible astigmatism

I use it a D-810. It is one of the best lens I own. Truly a professional product. It focuses quickly and accurately.Be aware that this is a heavy lens, but it is built like a tank. It has a metal casing, and I don't mind the extra weight at all

Paired this with my D7000 and after a little bit of af fine tuning it shoots great. Absolutely love this lens. Produces better color rendition than the 70-200 f2.8 VR2. Fast af even with a screw drive.

This is the s***! I've had a Canon EF 80-200/2.8L and a Sigma EX 70-200/2.8 HSM previous to this lens and it kicks the other lenses butts. Hard. It's sharp, it's fast and it's built like a Abrams M1 tank. What more could you ask for? The A/M-ring is made of plastic and is easy to break.

Sharp, fast, color rendering (is that the correct expression?)

  • -

    Plastic A/M-ring.

I haven't used it much yet. Love it and it feels great in my hands but think perhaps too heavy to use without a tripod
