When UPS delivered, the carton was put in my hands. My first reaction was "whoa, this can't be right" as the box was quite heavy. When the box was opened I found that there was a 200 f/2.0 inside and it was the source of the weightiness.
I use this with a D800. The speed of this lens makes it terrific for challenging light as in indoor sports and outdoor shade. It feels solid and has excellent ergonomics. Perfect focal length for playing field and gym.
One of the best lenses in Nikon's lineup. Sharp wide open, fabulous by 2.8, with an incredibly smooth rendition of out of focus areas. It's one of those very few lenses that "make the picture themselves". The photographer clicks, and customers go "ohhh"...

Excellent image quality. Truly astonishing bokeh. Speed (T2). Lightning fast autofocus.

Weight. Balance. Shape makes it a little more difficult to hand hold than it should be.
WOW is all I can say. This lens is AMAZING...I rented this lens several times before making this purchase to make sure it aligned with my style of photography. I knew the first rental that this was going to be in my bag one of these days. My favorite combination was the Nikon D5 and Nikkor 85 1.4.
When I first lifted this lens and brick-like F5 to my face I thought "Oh (darn it), this won't work, way too heavy."When I first looked through the viewfinder I forgot about the weight. So bright! So steady! I thought "Wow, this really works!
a little heavy but the images are just super ,not understated in advertising. LOVE IT !!
