TheNikon 4804 R1 Wireless Close-Up Speedlight System works brilliantly with my new Nikon D7500.It arrives in a huge box but the small flash units are great.
I'm using a Nikon D90 with 60mm Macro to take intraoral and facial photos for orthodontics. At first, I'd purchased a wireless ring flash from a company who claims to be a dental photography guru. However, most photos came out with dark shadows or with un-matching colors.
A good kit for macro. Comes with a large case which I find useful, although I would never travel with it or take it on a hike. Good for storing all the components at home. The 2 small flashes aren't super powerful, but enough power for the distance they are supposed to be used for.
This is a wonderful speedlight setup. Together with my Nikon 910 speedlight and D810 camera, it offers great flexibility. So far I've used it only for tabletop macro product photography, but it has possibilities for portrait and room photography as well.
Purchased this based on the review and comparison among different brands including 3rd party. Some 3rd party items are also great and take regular battery not the special CR123A, but has some minor comment about the glitch (e.g. overheat, error signal and then self-recovered after re-start.
For years I used a Canon MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite Flash. These units triple the number of ways to mess up. 1. They're run by IR. If you don't have line of sight, no flash. 2. The channel dial is way too easy to change. No flash. 3.
System is pricey but a great addition to my bag, well worth the investment.
I own several different types of flash units. So far this flash is the best I ever used. So far it has been outstanding with my indoor flower portrait work. Do make sure that you follow the directions when you assemble the flash to the camera. Your results should be outstanding.
Great wireless macro flash!
