If you cast your mind back to August of last year, we tested the Netgear Nighthawk XR500 ; a network router with a similar feature-set and almost identical price to the AX8 we’ve delved into today. However, the similar price doesn’t describe the performance.

The router was fairly easy to install but the Netgear EX7300 extender required help from Netgear technical and took over an hour to set up. Netgear technical help was excellent. The router has 5 LAN ports- 8 would be better. Other than that, it is an excellent router.

Easy to set up and get running. Range is good and throughput on 5GHz is really good, better than my old X6.While steaming to the TV, microwave doesn't" interfere with the TV unlike all previous routers. Would recommend this product

Well this router was the last device we needed on our property, syncing nicely with the two NetGear extenders and wiring we done. Fast and reliable, along with parental and advanced settings for the router. Little bit of time needed to setup but needed for the long run. Highly recommend.

It's good when it works but find I am often having to turn it off and back on. As of last night there was an update to the unit which has caused all sorts of problems where some apps on my ipad I have been using for years no won't work as the router security kicks it and says no internet and my xbox...
