The Microsoft Surface Studio is a gorgeous desktop PC and a capable digital creation tool in a single package. It brings innovation to a relatively stagnant space and provides an elegant solution to multi-product work for artists and designers.
-
+
Stunning design., Elegant all-in-one digital creation solution., Fast performance., Super-thin display with fantastic image quality., Responsive, accurate touch screen for art and design work.

Doesn't use the latest components., Lacks expandability options.
Microsoft's ambitious love letter to creative professionals is the touchscreen iMac of your dreams -- albeit crazy expensive and running Windows.
-
+
The Surface Studio has a fantastic 28-inch screen with excellent color, mounted on smooth hinges that fold down to an artist-friendly angle. The excellent Surface Pen stylus returns and the new Surface Dial shows promise. Every model has good-to-great dedicated graphics hardware.
-
-
Surface Studio is extremely expensive, and doesn't include the flashy Dial accessory by default. It skips newer graphics chips that support VR hardware. Support for the Dial is limited right now, and even compatible programs don't always use it in a practical way.
Not long after Satya Nadella took over Microsoft , he laid out his plan for the company. "We want to move from people needing Windows, to choosing Windows, to loving Windows," he said .
The distinctive 'drawing-board-display' is clearly the outstanding feature of the Surface Studio, and -- along with the optional Surface Dial -- could well have some appeal for creative users.
-
+
Attractive high-res display with 3:2 aspect ratio, Touch-screen controls, and 'drawing-board' mode, Good performance for graphics and design software
-
-
Very expensive, Limited build-to-order options, Limited upgradeability, Surface Dial not included
The Microsoft Surface Studio's stunning screen, fantastic stylus support and easy-to-use hinge make this machine the best all-in-one for artists and creators that you can buy.

Expensive, Ports are all on the back
A key to the popularity of the Microsoft Surface Pro tablets is their portability. However, some users may want a larger screen. It’s just not easy to engineer the next great invention or create another Mona Lisa on a 12-inch screen. For these pursuits, the Microsoft Surface Studio fits the bill.
Microsoft’s Surface Studio is arguably the most exciting desktop to launch in a long time. The world has been moving to more portable devices for a while now, with notebook sales overtaking desktops and never looking back.
The Surface Studio is a whole lot of computer, with a whole lot of price tag

I love this machine. It sometimes chokes on Photoshop or Illustrator, which is really unfortunate, but overall its functional and comfortable. the i7 is quiet a bit more but could be worth it for video editing. 3 weeks after i purchased this machine the card reader failed. that was a disappointment.
I gave this a star rating so that I could leave more of a comment than a review. ALL the reviews left here thus far were posted months before the Surface Studio came to market. That being said, the positive reviews, I assume, are written by Windows OS fans.
It is perfect for office work. I use the pen extensively to comment on documents as well as websites. The computer is fast and rarely crashes. Touch screen is amazing. I just bought three more for my team and one for my home.
The combination of Surface Studio and Surface Dial makes work fun. People talk about being “in the zone” in sports a lot...call me a nerd but I sort of feel like that working in the Studio.
Microsoft marketing missed the boat by marketing this to artists. It is really a great productivity tool for attorneys and editors. I can mark up documents in half the time it normally takes me using printed paper.
My daughter recommended this Surface Studio. Very nice.
This thing is a mixed bag. When it works - it's pretty nice. Although I've only own it for about 11 months and 3 times now it has hit these crazy slow-downs where even restarting becomes a scary troubling LONG process. It just sits and spins.
For when you are in your office, and doing real work, this machine is phenomenal - it doubled my work product output.
Overall, the unit is built well, the internals are very sub-par. It's like they took parts from a cheap laptop and paired it with a high end touch screen monitor. The unit is way over priced, and when the Surface studio 2 arrived a few months later, Microsoft would not even offer a trade in value on...
Screen is getting damaged fastly
