Got the 8x42 from Ozscopes a few weeks ago when on special for $215, high quality and crystal clear easy to use binoculars, on par with the Nikon Monarchs a friend uses that are nearly double the price, only minus on these is they are let down by the low quality case and strap, highly recommended...
These binoculars are very bright meaning they have good coatings particularly for this price level. The eye relief is really nice, as we now don't need to remove our eyeglasses to get things focused. A real improvement from our previous inexpensive Bushnells.
These binoculars are fairly small, light and easy to hold. The image quality compares well with my Bushnell 7X50 binoculars and they are much smaller. My only complaint is with the carrying case - it is a bit too tight.
A lot of bang for the buck. The image quality on these are every bit as good as on much more expensive bins, but I guess that's why these were awarded as the best value in 2015. Meade did a very good job on these binoculars. Its amazing they can still sell them at such an inexpensive price.
We use these to watch birds out our back door. They work very well. They are light enough for hand holding, but are better on the tripod we bought. The focus was stiff at first, but got easier as we used them. We haven't tried them for astronomy yet.
Well made item that reviewed very well given its price. Features on these are usually on much more expensive binoculars and the waterproofing was a big selling point
After a lot of research, I made the decision to purchase the Meade 8x42 Rainforest binoculars for birding. The primary concerns for me was eye relief, (I wear glasses) and the quality of the optics. The binoculars work well with my glasses.
I haven't had a decent pair of binoculars in decades. I just about dropped these the first time I used them because they were so much better. And great quality. Very good fiedl of view, crisp, bright, good color, a bit heavy. These are all you need and more for birdwatching.
Bought these binoculars for my friend's birthday, she went nuts over them. I checked them out before giving them to her, they are great value for the money, my only con was they were a little heavy, but otherwise great.
