Got this tripod for my wife. She always had trouble with the leg locks pinching her fingers. This works great and is easy to collapse.
The Manfrotto 458b Neotec Tripod replaced my Manfrotto 390 which I found too unstable for my EOS. The 458b is easy for me to use indoors/outdoors, or when attending landscape shoots with the local NDPS photographic society.

These tripods are great, but after a period of time the legs have a great deal of resistance. I use an ArmorAll wipe on the top 2 sections. Works like new again.
This is the most easy practical tripod available. So easy to set up and close down. Will accommodate almost any lens - with exception of the really large 600m etc. My only slight -and it is slight - criticism is it is not the lightest to carry around all day or take on holiday.
Compact, Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Locks In Tight, Smooth Movement
My photographic focus is travel and architecture. Since 2007, these legs paired with my Manfrotto ball head have served me extremely well. The quick-lock legs are the selling feature. Dealing with flip-lock levers makes me not want to use a tripod. With the quick-lock, you can set up instantly.
I have had this tripod for 5 or 6 years and find it to be great, I take mostly Wildlife and scenic photos and the tripod is super fast to set up,just pull the legs out to the height you wish and you are ready to go.
I've owned this tripod since it was brand new to the market and I have used it extensively since then. (7+ years now) I've used it indoors and outdoors for portrait photography as well as for hiking and travel photography as the quick setup of the legs was very convenient.
This is so easy to use -it adjusts fairly quickly and I am really pleased with it.
Easily Adjusted, Locks In Tight, Smooth Movement
A top end Tripod, which does exactly as is says in the literature, expensive, but well worth the money, so substantial it should last for a lifetime.
Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Locks In Tight, Smooth Movement
My original review is probably someplace among the reviews. I bought it five or six years ago and have been loving it ever since. I have five tripods. One is much taller (and heavier) than this one.
