I saw someone using this at a conference a couple months ago and I had to have one. Being able to quickly adjust the legs is great. I specialize in children, infants through kindergarten. I often need more height adjustment than the center column allows and frequently have to adjust the legs.
I wrote an earlier review after a few days of use. I liked it a lot then. I have now used it for more than a thousand sittings and I have gotten smoother and more comfortable with it. I cant imagine going back to one of my other four tripods of similar size and I probably wont.
Got this tripod for my wife. She always had trouble with the leg locks pinching her fingers. This works great and is easy to collapse.
I have had this tripod for 5 or 6 years and find it to be great, I take mostly Wildlife and scenic photos and the tripod is super fast to set up,just pull the legs out to the height you wish and you are ready to go.
My photographic focus is travel and architecture. Since 2007, these legs paired with my Manfrotto ball head have served me extremely well. The quick-lock legs are the selling feature. Dealing with flip-lock levers makes me not want to use a tripod. With the quick-lock, you can set up instantly.
I can't believe they still sell this model. Let's start with the legs were drenched in oil when I first purchased it. Every time I collapsed the legs and extended them a new coat of oil would get onto the legs and onto my hands.
These tripods are great, but after a period of time the legs have a great deal of resistance. I use an ArmorAll wipe on the top 2 sections. Works like new again.
I've owned this tripod since it was brand new to the market and I have used it extensively since then. (7+ years now) I've used it indoors and outdoors for portrait photography as well as for hiking and travel photography as the quick setup of the legs was very convenient.
Innovative Tripod but VERY disappointed about Horizontal Center Column ; it takes (1)Remove, (2)Unlock, (3)Remove, (4)Insert, (5)Tighten to make it a horizontal column... Why didn't Manfrotto apply the same mechanism as 190XPROB for the Horizontal Column??
I went on a commercial assignment and another photographer had this tripod and let me use it on my commercial shoot. I love this tripod as to raise it you just pull the legs down to the desired height with no levers to turn.
