If you don't mind paying extra for a thin chassis and a 17-inch 4K-resolution display, the MSI GS73VR Stealth Pro 4K is worth looking into, but you can get more performance for your money if you keep looking.

The MSI GS73VR Stealth Pro 4K is much thinner than your average 17.3-inch gaming laptop and packs a nice 4K-resolution display, a responsive RGB LED backlit keyboard and extensive connectivity options.

Though the slim metal body is appreciated, but the lid and body are flimsy given the system's $2,300 price. The GPU is not quite enough for 4K gaming with detail settings cranked up, so you might find yourself picking between high resolution or high details.
This complete chassis overhaul provides GTX 980M-level graphics performance in a smaller, lighter, and cooler package. Fan noise is still a stumbling point for a series that delicately balances between a razer-sharp design philosophy and enthusiast-level GTX GPUs.

Complete sRGB or AdobeRGB coverage (optional), fast display response times; 120 Hz (optional), accessible WLAN module and secondary HDD, almost no uneven backlight bleeding, comfortable RGB backlight keyboard, accurate grayscale out-of-the-box, strong CPU and GPU performance, lightweight and thin;...

M.2 SSD and SODIMM access requires additional disassembly, no individually backlit keys; no Macro or auxiliary keys, fans are always active; loud fan noise under load, removing bottom panel will void warranty, center of outer lid could be more rigid, high-pitched fan noise when gaming, spongey...
As a whole, I’m pretty impressed with the GS73VR. As far as 17-inch laptops go, there aren’t many options that are portable at that screen size. The main highlights are the keyboard, GPU and the screen. Another thing I’m pretty happy with is the cooling system.

Excellent keyboard; 120Hz screen; Good color gamut; External GPU compatibility; Portable, with a powerful GPU; Fast performance and good thermals

bottom casing may have sharp edges; slow SD card reader speeds; difficult to upgrade SSD and ram
MSI's GS73VR is a slimmer take on large gaming notebooks, with impressive performance at a reasonable price
The MSI GS73 6RF ‘Stealth Pro’ is an impressive laptop catering to the enthusiast audience who place an importance on portability as much as performance. It really does look positively diminutive after reviewing the monster MSI GT83VR 6RF desktop replacement (review HERE ) a couple of weeks ago.

Fantastic IPS 4K panel., Very thin design – this is a very portable 17 inch laptop., Good keyboard., Handles 1080p gaming at the highest quality settings., Not too loud under load., Overclocking headroom on the GTX1060., Fully customisable RGB backlit keyboard., Superb connectivity options.

Battery life is quite weak., Locked i7 processor., Not the easiest machine to upgrade., On-board speakers produce no bass at all., Default software install is a little bloated., 2TB storage drive is very slow (<80MB/s).
I bought one of these to run Blackmagic Design's Davinci Resolve video editor. It kept giving me "media offline" errors on the timeline with large projects. On smaller projects it would randomly drop frames "media offline" when I rendered. Pretty much unusable for my purpose.

It is a screamer

Would not run my video editor
Another thing is if you do get this laptop (and pretty much any laptop), make sure to update all drivers as they will cause issues with CPU utilization. At first I was disappointed with some of the stuttering, but it was merely an issue with the drivers.

-Overall great screen- 120 hz is an improvement over the standard 60 hz for FPS (I play a lot of CSGO, BF1, overwatch, Diablo, Civ, borderlands, rocket league, etc) -Keyboard is responsive and light (I am definitely a fan of steel series) -Plays BF1 in ultra without any issues (although I do put it...

A lot of these cons are not a big deal at all for me because I wear a headset when I game. However, they may be important to others: -The fans are rather noisy even when at idle but definitely during gaming. However, it is doing its job, the keys are nice and cool.
Best GM lap top no noise or lag I am so in love with this skinny bad boy ....i7 7gen...
