I recently reviewed Kata 3n1-33 which is my main travel pack for camera equipment. However, as I mentioned in that review, there are better choices if you need a backpack for hiking – for that I prefer the Lowepro Flipside 300.

I use this bag for my Canon 5D Mark IV. attached to the camera is my Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L II glass and they both fit perfectly in it. For a grab and go day bag this is ideal. I took it on my first trip just yesterday to the coast, and it worked well!

I have used the LowePro Slingshot bags in the past, and found them to be perfectly adequate, but this bag's design is ideal for the shooter that likes to frequently change lenses in the field.

Found the perfect bag to carry the D700 with Sigma 150-500 attached: LowePro Flipside 300. Leaves plenty of room for accessories. It even has a clip on the front to carry a monopod/tripod.

The Flipside is far superior to the Lowepro Slingshot series, Tamrac Velocity series, and lumbar packs like the Moutainsmith Photo Tour. The most significant difference is the level of support provided. Ergonomically, the Flipside maintains symmetry throughout your body.

Don't get this if you plan on carrying more than 4 or 5 lenses and a single camera body.

Great bag for a kit of about 4 to 5 lenses (one lens attached to a single body) and a flash. Heres what I have in the bag, 40D with 30mm attached, 150mm vertical in the center column, and a wide angle 11-16 and 50mm along the left side of the 150 with a 430exII, battery charger and dust blower along...

Honestly, I should have bought the all black version, the red is not really red but more of a maroon color.

Nice, especially at the lower price. Very substantially constructed.

Ive never used anything but Lowepro and theyre pretty much indestructible. Like the Stealth Reporters, the 300 just seems to swallow whole all the stuff you stuff in there. On this pack, the zipper is against your back, so no worries about security. Beautiful build, too. Get one!

My go to bag for the past 4 years has been the Flipside 400AW, but its a little large for a personal effect while traveling. I will be traveling abroad this summer and was looking for something that would protect my gear while not being too cumbersome.

Bought this for an upcoming trip as couldnt carry around the prorunner 450 all day. Wish this was a tad larger, but I can carry 2-3 lenses, my 70-200, dslr, filters, and a few other things. Seems well made, we will find out how it works over the vacation.

Leaving aside that the case is too narrow for my fat lenses with lens hoods, I wanted to hurl the bag every time I had to open/close zippers. Because of the flap over the zippers, the zippers WILL NOT smoothly round the top corners of the bag.
