Lensbaby Edge 80 Optic

this lens lived up to the hype for me. affordable, fairly easy to use especially if you have used other lensbaby products. slice of focus with a dreamy artsy background.

This is a neat Lensbaby product. It took a few test shots to get that 'line' of focus right where I wanted it, but right away I was able to take creative and unique photos. With this lens my photos have a bit of a twist. I also love that when centered it work just like a regular prime lens.

Having a Blast with the Edge "80". Very different than the Sweet "35" & "50". Changes the way you will see and use your Composer. Just takes a little practice and experimenting. Do not be afraid to go after this optic. It'll be a great addition to your Lensbaby collection.

If you already have the Composer Pro body, the Edge 80 is a good investment. I first got the Composer Pro with Sweet 35 and was never wowed by the results. After it sat unused for a while I decided to try the Edge 80, thinking I would return it if not happy.

I have not had much time to use this optic, but so far so good. I am heading to the mountains soon, hope to get some great miniature shots!

good collection for your SLR

The front and back glass seems to be full of dust particles. I haven't tested the lens yet to see if it affects image quality yet, but it would have been nice to know the lens was in that condition.

The Lensbaby Edge 80 Optic is one of Lensbaby's "swappable" optics for its line of lenses. It has a focal length of 80mm and features a 12-blade aperture with a range from f/2.8 through f/22.

This is not a cheap optic, so I was a little hesitant to buy the Lens Composer + This optic. Remember you cannot use this optic alone, you will need to buy the Composer Lens Baby first. So the total investment cost me around 700 dollars (bought 2 optics + Composer Pro).

I own the lensbaby composer (& the optic that comes with it- double glass i think??) & the fisheye optic. This is a fun new addition! I prefer it over the other optics. I still have some playing around to do with it.
