The Flex 5 is not for enthusiasts or performance users and Lenovo knows this. Instead, the budget system is for the home multimedia user or student who may simply want an inexpensive 15-inch Windows laptop with tablet features for movie playback, word processing, and the occasional casual games.

discrete GeForce MX130 graphics, good build quality; stiff hinges, included Lenovo Active Pen, dual internal storage bays, respectable battery life, accessible internals

lots of empty unused space surrounding the motherboard, proprietary AC adapter charging instead of USB Type-C, constant fan noise; very small cooling solution, PWM on all brightness levels except maximum, very poor Turbo Boost performance, single-channel RAM only, high-pitched fan noise, very dim...
The 15.6-inch Lenovo Flex 5 makes a nice alternative to a traditional mainstream laptop, especially if you've got entertainment in mind.

Following the form of Lenovo's slimmer, smaller Yoga two-in-ones, the Flex 5's 15.6-inch display gives you more room for work and, complemented by its speakers, makes it very good for video, music and games. It also has plenty of battery life to get you through the day.

Outside of its 360-degree hinges, the design is basic and it's a bit too big and heavy to use comfortably as a handheld tablet. The exhaust fans do get loud under load.
The $929 asking price of our review unit is about as expensive as this notebook gets. The base model starts at just $629, but the $699 model (as we wrote this) seemed to be the best value for general usage, given it included a 256GB SSD for storage instead of a large but slow 1TB hard drive.

Ho-hum looks, Cooling fan can be noisy, Gets pricey with options
Not a bad machine, just an awkward one.
Compared to my old laptop this one is amazing. I treated myself with the 360 touch screen, the i7intel core. I am enjoying the speed, storage and all the capabilities it have. I had my previous laptop for 10 yrs. It still works just slow. Who knows how long I'll have this one.
Laptop arrived a whole week ahead of schedule which was excellent! The laptop is blazing fast even with the nowadays somewhat paltry 8gigs of ram mine has but it had the 8th gen i7 so performance is great. Graphic intensive games work really well on it too and i had no issues.
I like the computer. No issues with it. I wish the pen came with it.
I bought this to have something to browse the internet at home with besides our phones/tablet. I was specifically looking for touchscreen, back-lit keyboard, and an SSD. I didn't need the 2-1 style device but this was what was available in my price range (this being at the top of my price range).
A little heavy for my preference. It does have a bigger screen, so it makes up for it. Also, it seems like is large enough to have a ten key, but they didn't include it. Everything else about this computer is awesome. It's fast and very comfortable to type on and runs programs without issues.
Great notebook, full HD screen provides excellent resolution and picture. A little heavy for the tablet style use, but this machine has great specs. Finger print reader works smooth, no issues at all. Glad to have this
I love the trackpad, super silcky. Love the keyboard. The keyboard has good depth and feedback, and the layout is what I'm used to on my desktop. The screen is too reflective. It is fine in low light and when there is a white background (which there typically is in most apps).
This computer is great. I use it for work with the keyboard face down and the screen at closest point facing me. In front of the screen I have a USB connected keyboard with number pad. It has a USB C port and I will be getting a 3 port USB hub with Ethernet cable for it.
Great laptop for the price, SSD is fast, plenty of RAM and processing power for normal use. I've done a bit of CAD and programming on it and it works great. Anything super intensive would need a more powerful computer but this laptop is great if you don't need it to be a full fledged work station.
The laptop is very noisy (Fan). This is the number one problem. The overall performance is good. Also, this is a bad design which is very thick, and a bad balance of weight. A convertible laptop supposed to be more portable but this one was not a very good one in term of handling.
