Lenovo 14" ThinkPad X1 Yoga Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Notebook

Lenovo introduced the X1 Carbon five years ago, and the business-centric laptop returns once again, now in its fifth generation. Lenovo nailed the formula awhile ago and the Carbon remains highly regarded by business users, so the company isn’t going to screw with a winning design.

For Lenovo, the fourth time's the charm. The 4th-generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon gets the business ultrabook formula right with a keyboard, screen and battery life that live up to their promise, wrapped up in a durable, 2.6-pound package.

Ultrabooks are normally designed for home users – but that's not always the case. Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Carbon, for example, targets affluent business customers who are willing to spend almost 2000 Euro (~$2800) for the top-of-the-line version.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch is a good successor to the first generation X1 Carbon. It retains almost everything that is good about the original while adding the touchscreen many people value in a Windows 8 machine.

Lenovo has rolled out a variety of business-chic ThinkPad laptops over the past few months, as well as the wonderfully flexible Yoga 2 Pro . We’ve reviewed several of the company’s devices in recent times, including the T440s , the X240 , and the ThinkPad Yoga.

Lenovo got a lot of things right with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, and all the advantages carry over to the Carbon Touch: it's light, gorgeous, functional, and powerful enough for every realistic ultrabook task.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is clearly a product for a consumer business, so a strong focus on quality, neglecting the design slightly. I admit it, the moment I saw the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon I had a serious crush. That's not wildly unusual for this technologist, but those first crushes often turn to indifference once I put a machine through its paces.

The X1 Carbon that Lenovo shipped out for review is likely the fastest Ultrabook yet. The Broadwell Core i7 is certainly a step ahead of the other devices we have tested, and the included PCIe SSD is basically the fastest drive offered today.

I had to send this computer back in for service twice soon after purchase. Even then, the battery did not hold the charge when the computer was turned off and not plugged in. I waited too long to recontact the company and am being forced to purchase a new batter.

A great business laptop. I wouldn't get it as a personal though. All of the things that you want in a business laptop with none of the creature comforts of a full-sized personal.

  Great business notebook. Super thin, super light, fast. I love the feel of the keyboard. The battery charges fast and the display is nice. DisplayPort for the home dock, solid state drive, user friendly feeler pad, blue tooth, 3G sim card slot, usb 3.0, and dual band wifi.

  Being so small, the feeler pad is directly under your palms. I had to get used to the feel of that. The charger port is fairly large, about usb sized, which can be mistaken for a usb port in the dark. That is something that you just have to get used to. The battery advertised 8 hours, I think.

I wanted a product with high speed processing power, user friendly in terms of modern technology, sizable screen size and indeed strong and light to carry. I like the product because it has given the experience I really desired from a laptop.

It can tell what brand battery is in it. If it's not energizzer, it won't charge. Thanks Big Data!!! Technology will save us right
