The Leica V-Lux (Typ 114) is the same camera as the Panasonic FZ1000, but it adds a longer warranty and an Adobe Lightroom license.

Superior image quality at higher ISOs. Very fast autofocus. 11.8fps burst shooting. 1-inch image sensor. 16x zoom range. 4K video capability. Vari-angle LCD. Sharp EVF. Integrated Wi-Fi with NFC.

Expensive. Bulky. Lacks built-in ND filter. Not weather sealed. Physical controls could be better. 4K video is cropped and requires manual exposure control.
Leica’s latest is a jack of all trades – and a master of some. The Panasonic FZ1000 is its equal, however – and £300 cheaper

Incredibly versatile, Excellent image and video quality, Fast autofocus

It’s expensive, Almost identical to the cheaper Panasonic FZ1000
Recently the bridge camera sector has become a key battleground for manufacturers trying to carve a niche distinct from smartphones. Now that the latter can boast comparable image quality and pixel counts, cramming upwards of 60x optical zoom into a camera has been a marketing miracle.
Like its almost identical twin (the Panasonic FZ1000), the V-Lux Typ 114 has a very desirable lens and a good quality 1-inch sensor that produces high quality images in raw and JPEG format.
Interesting that the top critical review felt that the V-Lux would not stand up to a beating. That is too bad since I have had mine since December 2013 and have taken on all of my motorcycle adventures including 1 about 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle! The camera has never let me down!
Outstanding camera in every way. Incredibly broad features with detailed explanations on setup and usage on included CD. Wifi feature takes some time to setup but offers remote operation of camera and easy transfer of pictures to phone.

WOW ! The Leica V-Lux, type 114 is a phenomenal piece of equipment! You will not be disappointed in all the built-in features and photography options. Be sure to download the 333-page Instruction Manual from Abt Electronics website!!
I own several cameras - an old 'blad that belong to my wife's grandmother, a couple of 35 mm film cameras that should be taken to the thrift store and, as my primary cameras, a Nikon D800E, a Panasonic-Lumix GX8 and, now, the Leica V-Lux Typ 114.
I use the camera for portraits, close ups, athletic events. Caution - this camera is so good, I went and bought a Leica M10 a week later.
I bought this camera because it has a 1" sensor coupled with a 400mm equivalent zoom. I wanted excellent image quality in an All-In-One camera when I don't feel like carrying extra lenses. This camera works perfectly for that criteria. It not pocketable.
I've used the previous Leica V lux camera for over 3 years almost every day. The fact that it has f2.8 aperture is AMAZING. I got the new one few weeks ago. It's a little bulky, but still the f2.8 and the 4K video makes it my first choice for everyday use.
This Leica Camera is the best to use for travel and to carry very light also comfortable. Pictures are amazing. It is worth and love it.
