The Leica V-Lux (Typ 114) is the same camera as the Panasonic FZ1000, but it adds a longer warranty and an Adobe Lightroom license.
Superior image quality at higher ISOs. Very fast autofocus. 11.8fps burst shooting. 1-inch image sensor. 16x zoom range. 4K video capability. Vari-angle LCD. Sharp EVF. Integrated Wi-Fi with NFC.
Expensive. Bulky. Lacks built-in ND filter. Not weather sealed. Physical controls could be better. 4K video is cropped and requires manual exposure control.
An intervalometer for time lapse recording, multiple exposure mode and a built-in flash, along with a hot-shoe for attaching an external flashgun, top-off the V-Lux's specification nicely.
1-inch sensor, Large maximum aperture and 16x zoom range, Extensive feature set
Screen not touch sensitive, Bulky for a 1-inch sensor camera, More expensive than the Panasonic FZ1000
This camera is a great addition to my photo arsenal and it is perfect for every day pictures. I purchased it for my travel to Europe but already tested it around my house. The camera has razor sharp autofocus and F2.8-4.0 initial aperture range that allows me to take pictures in almost any situation...
1. Excellent and fast auto-focus2. Super 16-x zoom3. ISO 80-250004. 4K video5. 12 fps in continuous-shooting mode6. Free download of one copy of ADOBE Lightroom 6 for you to own. ($150 value)
Would love to have a Remote shutter. Even the simple one.I need a Battery grip. Couldn't find any neither here or elsewhere. Not weather sealed.
I purchased the camera on December 19. The camera was fine. I took nice pictures with it. But, then, I dropped it & cracked/chipped the lens. Sent it to Leica who said that the parts for repair are no longer available. That makes no sense to me given that I purchased it 8 months ago.
I'm not a "bridge camera" fan although they are relatively popular. Most users purchase them primarily because of their convenience regarding range of focal lengths and lack of need to carry multiple lenses, and of course, the weight savings.
