LaCie Porsche P9233 4TB USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drive

The software provided with the Porsche drive feels rather un-Mac-like, so it won’t really be a strong selling point for Mac users. However, the Porsche drive still provides a fast, efficient backup drive with plenty of space for your music and video collection, or your important work files.

The design and software features of the Porsche P’9230 are quite attractive, but at £115 for 1TB of storage it ought to offer Porsche performance as well as just style.

I've see better, more functional drive enclosures. The drive itself seems fine!

  The design is by no means anything to boast about, especially since it seems to have bumped the price up. Restricted cooling ports. Front, back and top are a piece channel aluminum. The other three sides are plastic. So much for "Solid aluminum casing"!

its a ST3000DM001-1CH166 seagate drive with 7200, 64mb drive. not as described as 5400. hd tune showed lowest 92.2, highest 183.4 average 151. not bad at all hope it lasts long. too bad it sold out already.

I bought this drive about a year ago, and thus far I've not been disappointed. It's great in terms of performance, the design is nice, and it's very simple to use. The USB 3.0 is plenty fast, and there's lots of room for all my files.
