I vlog. I use a lot of hard drive space for someone who is not really making money from what I purchase these for. I have an array of LaCie Drives, but I use the 6TB drives for editing. The Thunderbolt 3's are great for speed and ease of use with a fairly recent MacBook Pro laptop. Love 'em.
The product formatted and loaded my data without question. I will agree that the big blinking blue light is annoying but other than that, it's doing just fine holding my photo archives.
I've been using the d2 drives for a while and, overall, they've been reliable. But this last one I got, after a week of use, the fan stopped working and make a loud whirring sound.
Does not sustain the high speeds it advertises, but it's DEFINITELY faster than all my other external SSDs. Very high quality materials! I will keep buying these!
Partitioned this drive to create 5 separate drivdes for photos, videos, documents and such. I own another LaCie, and have never had a problem with it; so I purchased another.
Do all my video project with these drives.

I use 3 of these external drives for backing up all my data. They’re quiet and reliable! Thunderbolt speed and pass through are great!
I have three of these External hard drive’s hooked up to older MacBook Pro. So I thought that It would be a goood idea to buy one for my new Mac book pro. Never had a problem the the older version, they are daisy change and have never failed me.
Solid drive and excellent transfer speeds. no drivers or software required, works with time machine, just great!
