LaCie 3TB LaCie d2 Quadra with USB 3.0

This is my 6th LaCie d2 Quadra Hard Drive. Never had a problem with any of them (knock on wood). They are all still running. Bought this 5TB for my main image drive (an upgrade from a 2TB). Back up to two 4TB LaCie's and have another I use to mirror my main image drive.

  I have used this brand of backup drive now for over 8 years. I have two other drives which I have managed to fill up. They are not on constantly and have been good so far. There is a fan that is run to keep the drive cool. Easy to use. Drag and drop or hook up for automatic back up from your laptop.

I was looking for a quality hard drive for video editing and back-up. I wanted something with a solid metal enclosure, quadruple interface, and high transfer rates. I looked around and in the end I bought d2 Quadra with USB 3, Firewire and eSATA interfaces. The drive works perfectly.

I cannot rate this LACIE yet, because it's with a computer geek who is currently trying to retrieve info from an old LACIE and place on the new LACIE we just purchased. I do not know whether this is a good purchase yet or not.

I've a couple dozen of these drives used to archive my work over the years. They work great.

I bought this in 2015 and it lasted about 2 years until it drops connection randomly. I'm going to get a new cord and see if that works. If the new cord doesn't work, I definitely can't recommend this device for storing anything. Its a high price to pay for making the mistake of buying this product.

I use this drive as semi-permanent storage. I chose it because it has the connections for many different types of cables, and because I had positive experiences with all my previous LaCie Quadra drives

Well everybody ,I was blessed to find this at work..Actually 2....First thing I noticed. .heavy Construction almost Bulletproof...A+.. second very quiet operation...A+ Third easy installation, once connected to my Xbox One it recognized it.....

With my business growing, I was looking to upgrade my primary system back up from 2TB. Wanting to take advantage of the firewire port on my MacBook Pro, the LaCie 2d Quadra 4TB was a perfect fit. Even better, I was able to daisy-chain my other drive to it for additional file storage!

This is my fourth LaCie drive. I have the six year old drive running great. I did have to get a new power supply for it about three years ago but that is the only problem I've encountered. I've added three more drives since then..
