Cumbersome to change between RAID types, Ports may be difficult to access for some
Very fast transfer rates from USB 3.0. Versatile to set up partitioning for multiple OS systems (NTFS/EXFAT). Heavy construction and easy on the eyes. Came with Firewire and USB cables.
So far, so good. Burned through 2 Seagates in 2 years (thank God for redundant drives) Thought it was time to try something else. Very impressed so far.
Great RAID/Ready Hard drive. Using the Hardware RAID switch you can transform this 6TB beast into a safe 3TB RAID drive. Great for archiving photographs
I'd give 5 stars but the fan is a bit noisy and sounds like a bearing is a bit loose. Thunderbolt 2 is really fast and no issues with the hard drives. Setting it up for RAID 1 was not obvious: directions said it would take some hours to format the drives, so I'm waiting and waiting, but it was...
Good drive but having issues with the drive dropping from iMac after waking the machine from overnight sleep mode. Hoping it is the cable and not the drive.
Fast - works as expected - zero problems.
Did not work with the 2017 iMac. I think this is a very well made drive, best of all that I looked at. It is easy to use, and I have no issue with noise. You might hear a bit when you start your machine and it powers up, but that is about it.
I've had this for a couple of months now and it's working just fine.
Quality product. Easy to install/configure. Very reliable so far - 2 months use.
Would be a great product if it ever woke up after it went to sleep in RAID 1 mode on OSX, which means that the drive (and anything chained to it) needs to be rebooted repeatedly. None of Lacie's software utilities support the drive and no firmware updates are available, nor, it seems, ever will be.
