The LG Nano 81 is a step up from the company’s UHD TVs, but by far the worst Nano Cell TV in the lineup due its edge-lit LED panel and awful local dimming. It’s missing many next-gen features like HDMI 2.1 ports and Dolby Vision, and it’s limited to a 60Hz native refresh rate.

Eye-catching design, Decent upscaling, Fine viewing angles, WebOS is still great, Comes with Magic Remote

Edge-lit LED panel, Awful local dimming, No HDMI 2.1, Limited to 60Hz, No Dolby Vision or Atmos
Easy setup including connecting to Comcast. NETFLIX, And YouTube. Easy to integrate the Comcast control stick. Very bright picture, hardly any stickiness in action scenes, TV response rate to inputs such as stop, reverse, or fast forward is very good.
TV is way smarter than I am, But the picture quality is excellent. Sound is good however I have a sound bar which makes it even better. Probably the best quality TV Ive ever purchased.
Based solely on picture quality, this set met all my expectations. I do not use cable, finding an antenna and wi-fi streaming meet my needs. Perhaps because of that, I find the remote control to be unhandy and unnecessarily complex.
Overall picture quality is very good but not as sharp as I was expecting. The magic remote takes some getting used to, but can perform a surprising number of different actions and works quite well. Although hookup was simple and intuitive, accompanying documentation is incredibly poor.
I bought this to replace a 10 yr old Sony 40"...what a difference!! #sweepstakes
This is my main TV! Replaced a 10 yr old Sony 40". What a difference!!
Wow...I like it! I'm elderly, and wanted the size so I could read better, but thought it "too high tech" and didn't think I could handle it. I'm still getting things goofed up a lot, but most often find my way out of mess. Most confusing is I use two remotes now, but that's o.k. Glad I bought it.
