I have a Canon EOS 70 D and 75-200 Canon USM telephoto lens. The Kenko Teleplus, 2X, is great! I take pictures birds and a pair of Bald Eagles. The autofocus works great and great exposure in the lighting. I am very happy with this converter. I have improved the to 150-400.
That's the only x2 TC I've ever used and will probably be the last one as well. Image quality on both my Nikkor 80-200/2.8 and Sigma 105/2.8 macro suffered significantly and the resulting images were too soft for my liking.

I use this teleconverter with my Tamron 18 - 270mm f/3.5 -6.3 and my 500mm lens and it works great. Just as I hoped it would. Definitely a good product.
As indicated by other reviews this converter autofocus works with lens's of f2.8 or faster and with limited focal lengths. It did not work on my 50mm f1.4 G lens but did work well on my 70-200 f2.8 G lens. The cool thing is it also autofocuses Nikon D lens so my 105 f2.8 D lens works well.
I can NOT get this converter to preform the auto focus function with my set up of a Nikon 5200 with either the 18-140mm or the 55-300mm Nikkor AF-VR lenses. The camera tries to focus but can't get a lock. I got a lot of inner lens reflections while taking shots of the eclipse.
Its kind of a good product. You loose too much light using this, you'll have to use manual focus and change the white balance to get the colors right. I have used it with my D7100 and a Nikkor 55mm-300mm to take pictures from the sky, what you will need is a good, very good tripod!
Image quality is just as good as the bare lens. Able to resolve far better detail than just cropping an image to match the focal length this gives you.
I purchased this to boost the performance of my old Nikon 300mm. It works very well. no deficits that I can see at 300 dpi on screen or in print. I use this combination (lens and converter) on both my D700 and D800 bodies. Nice results.
I'm an amateur photographer with a Nikon D3100 camera where I wanted to double the power of my Nikon DX AF-S NIKKOR 55-200mm ED VR zoom telephoto lens. I bought this Kenko 2X Pro 300 Teleconverter to accomplish that into a 110-400mm zoom.
The image quality I get from this paired with the Tamron 90mm f2.8 Macro (model 017) is very good. Even shooting wide open. However, the lens hunts quite a bit when shooting up close. Normal distance shooting is better. I use this combo with a Canon EOS 6d using the central focusing point.
