If you use an adapter with a Canon lens, do you cover the entire sensor, or does the adapter narrow the image down to micro four-thirds size? Also, does the firmware update change the author's mind about "those seeking a Cinematic look may want to look elsewhere?" Thanks for reading.....
This is kind of a hard one to review. This cam has some great features and I have some gripes about it as well. The bottom line though I bought a second one because I like the quality so much.
I really wanted to like this camera, especially at the large expense. For the most part, it performs well. The detail is very good. All of the lenses we have tested with it have had very good results. It falls short on three main areas.
This camera is a plastic body. You'll have to be very careful with it. The few finder is useless and the LCD panel is useless. I use an atomos ninja flame monitor and the metabones EF adapter. The images off this camera are beautiful. It also has J-log great dynamic range.
Got a camera mid February, after debating between this, the GH5 and a few of the other 4K cams. I make videos for a handful of corporate clients, was looking for a new main camera.
Many features that you can't get with a camera at this price point. The ability to use a variety of lenses make this camera very versatile. We all know Good glass seldom comes with camcorders with fixed lenses. Planning on buying more of these.
Camera is great so far still learning how to use it.
Very nice 4K camcorder especially with new firmware
I would have not considered a JVC camera since I have been a Canon and Sony user most of my career. JVC hit it out of the park with this one. Best camera I have ever owned.
