Transparency to die for Planar magnetic drivers Lighter and more comfy than most planar headphones

A stay-at-home headphone
The HE-560 proves that HiFiMAN is still at the top of their game. They retained the HE-500's good price/performance ratio, which was extraordinary considering it was a true high-end headphone.

Classy looks, Ultra-detailed sound, Incredible low end, Broad sound stage, Comfortable, Good price/performance ratio, Neutral sounding

Quite expensive at $899, Cable could be better, Good amplifier and source required
Here at MajorHifi, we sometimes encounter that rare breed of headphone that does so many things right, at such a good pricepoint, that we fall head-over-amplifier in love with it. As our Hifiman HE-560 review will show, the HE-560 is one such headphone.
If you can afford them, and if you have a sufficiently high end source to pair them with, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t go for them.

Build quality is a little off
I have delayed buying these headphones for some time - now that they are so reasonably priced I had to try them - I have these as well as for comparison the HE-500 as well as Senn HD600/Beyer T90/Oppo PM3 headphones, I've also owned Hifiman HE-6, Senn HD800/650 amongst others - So I guess I have...
I love these headphones but mids are slightly recessed and I listen to a lot of vocal music so this isn't ideal, overall the headphones sound very good to my ear and are very well made, I will not go into all of the over the top audiophile drivel that everyone seems to be writing while using exactly...
A very linear headphone that has a great price/performance ratio, but it is far from perfect. ------------------------------------------------------------------ BUILD: My version came in a new style hifiman box which was not wood and metal, but rather a hard pleather laminate on very stiff and thick...
These take a while to burn in (yes that's a thing), but they sound fantastic from the moment that you put them on. I suggest an amplifier. I have bought Dragonfly Red which seems to compliment them nicely.
The headphones came in a nice wooden box with a metal faceplate. The box, unfortunately, looks prone to damage and probably shouldn’t be utilized as a carrying case. I am told though that HIFIMAN offers a travel case that isn’t too expensive.
Bought these expecting big things, sadly let down, these 'phones need a decent amp to drive them as all planer magnet phones do even with my two amps(MF X-Can,Heed Cantana) the struggle in the upper reaches.
Excellent, as expected. Compared them in the shop to the (very expensive) Audeze LCD 3/X, and found these to come very close indeed regarding SQ. I would say the Audeze has slightly better bass depth and separation, maybe a tiny bit smoother, but certainly not enough for the huge price difference.
