GoPro HERO4 Silver

GoPro deserves credit for breathing life back into the stagnant camcorder business. While traditional camcorders have lost their luster, action cameras have gained popularity. Competitors from Sony to Polaroid have challenged GoPro for this turf, but it remains king of the mountain it built.

The GoPro Hero4 Silver takes everything we liked about the Hero3+ Black -- especially the solid video quality -- and adds in some handy new features including a touchscreen, making it one of the best little action cameras around.

  The GoPro Hero4 Silver produces some great video for an action cam. Its abundant resolution and frame-rate options will satisfy beginners and experienced shooters. The built-in touchscreen makes previewing and reviewing and changing settings a breeze.

  It still needs a housing to be waterproof. Battery redesign means you can't use your old batteries and battery life will still be too short for some. No option for in-camera digital image stabilization.

Underneath the surface, the GoPro's Hero4 Silver is basically the Hero3+ Black Edition—and that's a good thing. Its top-notch performance and new touch-screen display justify this action cam's $400 price tag.

The GoPro brand is synonymous with action cameras. The company, which is one of the pioneers of this category of cameras, has released a new model — the Hero4 Silver. It’s a mid-range model but the first GoPro to come with a built-in touchscreen.

The GoPro Hero 4 Silver didn't blow us away with any new ground breaking features, like 4K footage or super high frame rates, but the refinements employed by GoPro were not only necessary but handy.

This GoPro may be silver, but it's hard to call it second best.

This camera worked great for a couple months. Then problems started with videos freezing during recording, and the display screen locking up. GoPro will give you a run around about buying new high speed microSD cards ($$$) and going through a variety of firmware upgrades to fix this problem.

Despite some of the extras not being made for the GoPro, it is still worth the bundle just because buying a memory card and a GoPro would have cost more than this bundle costs. So it did still save money even if you don't use the tripod or bag.

  The tripod is not meant for a GoPro. You can't actually mount the GoPro to the tripod. When I asked if I could have it switched out, I was told no, it is an additional gift with my purchase.

I did not think I would use everything in this bundle, but have found it all to be quiet handy! I have used almost every piece, in one setting or another. I highly recommend!
