Garmin Edge 1030 Plus Cycling Computer

At the end of the day, the Edge 1030 Plus is essentially the bike computer you buy when someone asks ‘What’s the best GPS bike computer no matter the cost?’. There’s very few people out there that would argue that line of thinking.

The sheer amount of features crammed into such a tiny computer is almost bamboozling, but cycling stat geeks will have a field day scrolling through the insane number of metrics. Above all, Garmin’s navigation and routing is great and the bright, responsive touchscreen super easy to use.

This cycling computer is the largest-screen model on the market, and it's compatible with loads of accessories - from heart-rate monitors, to turbo trainers, to power pedals, and beyond - meaning you'll be able to map out incredibly detailed training data.

Setup has been problematic. The device disconnected from my computer several times during the updates, but ultimately completed the install, updates and map updates. The connection to the phone has also been iffy, and required repairing, but once I got it working was absolutely worth it.

My use to date is somewhat limited as I am using this while riding on a non smart trainer so I haven't been able to test out its full capability. However, I do have a cadence sensor and speed sensor connected to it, which was super easy.

This bike computer surprises me with all detail and intuitiveness for what the user wants to see and data being collected.I am new to cycling. 1.5 years into it. A friend that has cycled for years told me his concern of traffic nowadays.

After only a few days of use, my Edge 1030 has become an invaluable part of my routine. Stats in real-time and history tracking are clear, easy and exhaustive. Once through the set-up, usage is intuitive and seamless. Dislpay bright and well-sized. Looks great mounted on my ride!

I really like the Garmin 1030 plus easy to read easy to setup, makes my rides more enjoyable.

I am very impressed and happy with this device. It keeps tons of deer in front of me at all times, and is even better with a Garmin varia radar

Great for mountain biking. It combines everything you want in a bike computer with off road navigation.

The first time I used it, it froze and I couldn’t reboot it until after my ride. Overall, it’s a great size and I like the hill profile section. The graphics are small hopefully I can enlarge it.

The Garmin Ede 1030 is a great piece of kit, the battery lasts for hours - I usually do several rides before it needs a top up. It has a large screen and is responsive to touch.
