I tried to test this watch in several mountain climbing unfortunately I did not have any accurate result even in altimeter mode, Garmin MK1 measures almost %5-10 percent less than it supposed to measure on the summit.
After 6 months of daily use, I am very happy with this computer/fitness tracker. Battery life is good. I got 90 minute dives logged using about 10% of the battery each time. (I know this because I forgot the charger and had to ration my battery that week.) I use it for tracking runs.
Overall a good watch and dive computer, but... The usability leaves a lot to be desired. Both on the unit itself and the app. The interface and usability are extremely unintuitive. It pains me to say it but it looks like it was designed by an engineers. And I'm an engineer.
Great watch more than complete for any sport activity. I found only one annoying function: when swimming at sea or pool any time you go under 1m depth automatically scuba computer activate and there is no function to avoid this.
The Garmin Descent does everything I had hoped it would do. It has successfully replaced my Fitbit, the app I used to record bike rides, and my dive computer. The app is easy to use and the way the information is presented is very nice.
Great watch for every sport
I know this looks like a bit expensive but believe me it works perfectly. Battery live really good. 10% per day reduction. Very comfortable when you r diving.
Just used it on a dive and it was very useful. It is not a diving computer, but the info from it helps to record your dives.
This watch is realy good. But I hope garmin upgrade wifi connections and keep connect device with phone on same wifi network.
Functions were fairly intuitive and battery life was great. However, it still relied a lot on a phone connection and customization was limited for the price. Weather apps were problematic and more than once it quit recording mid workout. That was enough to not make me trust it for a dive.
