The X-T20 succeeds in putting the power and quality of the X-T2 into a smaller, more approachable camera. Given that the X-T2 is still a new camera, we can’t help but feel surprised (in a good way) at how much the X-T20 brings to the table for just $900.

  • +

Great value, Impressive image quality, Strong lens ecosystem, Classic design, 4K video

  • -

No in-body image stabilization, Dedicated ISO dial would have been nice

The mirrorless Fujifilm X-T20 delivers the same image quality and focus capabilities as the pricier X-T2, but drops weather sealing and some other pro features to hit a lower price point.

  • +

24MP APS-C X-Trans III image sensor. 8fps burst rate. 14fps with electronic shutter. Big, sharp EVF. Tilting touch LCD. Loads of physical controls. Film Simulation options. 4K video capture. Wi-Fi.

  • -

Omits in-body stabilization and weather sealing. No dedicated focus select control. Shooting buffer could be larger. 4K footage suffers from rolling shutter effect.

The Fujifilm X-T20 is a beautifully designed mirrorless camera that is a pleasure to use. It offers numerous direct controls, a high resolution EVF, snappy performance and excellent image quality. The X-T20's continuous AF system can struggle in low light, and subject tracking is inconsistent.

  • +

Photographers seeking a stylish camera with direct controls, excellent image quality and a great selection of lenses.

  • -

Action photographers and those requiring ultra-high-quality 4K video.

The Fujifilm XT20 is a highly compelling mid-range body, delivering the fabulous out-of-camera image quality, not to mention much of the autofocus, burst shooting and video capabilities of the flagship XT2 in a smaller, lighter and much more affordable body.

  • +

Best out-of-camera quality in its peer group., Good quality viewfinder and tilting touch-screen., Good continuous AF in the middle of the frame., Built-in Wifi with smartphone remote control., Silent shutter option. E-Shutter up to 1/32000.

  • -

Short movie clips: Ten or 15 minutes in 4k or 1080p., Basic three-frame AE bracketing. No Bulb timer., Touchscreen underused compared to rivals., Microphone input uses 2.5mm jack., SD slot doesn’t exploit UHS-II speed., No built-in stabilisation.

The Fujifilm X-T20 is a mirrorless system camera with a 24MP sensor that was developed by Fujifilm. This “X-Trans CMOS III” sensor is already used in Fujifilm’s top-of-the-line X-T2 and X-Pro2 mirrorless cameras.

  • +

Scorecard, + Compact and stylish mirrorless system, + Very good image quality, very nice skin tone reproduction, + A lot of features and individual settings, + Swivel LCD monitor

  • -

    - Missing internal image stabilizer (Fujifilm offers X lenses with optical image stabilizer), - Some function elements are really small, - Some menu items and settings are a little cumbersome

Fujifilm's flagships are great -- except for the price. The Fujifilm X-T20 could just be the right mix of features and price.

  • +

Excellent image quality, Affordable price point, Solid design

  • -

Image processing can be slow, No ISO dial, No weather-sealing

The Fujifilm X-T20 pairs a 24 megapixels X-Trans CMOS III sensor with speedy X-Processor Pro. This combination delivers excellent image-quality when it comes to noise, sharpness and dynamic-range. Image colors and white-balance are also impressive.

  • +

Very low image noise up to ISO 3200, Wide dynamic-range, Reliable metering, Natural rendition of image colors, Good automatic white-balance, Fast and accurate AF, Instant shutter-lag with virtually no blackout, Plenty of direct controls, Instant video response, Excellent build quality

  • -

Somewhat aggressive noise-reduction, Low ISO 100 unreliable, Not Exposure-Priority, Misleading EVF and LCD preview, Complicated Shutter-Speed control, No direct ISO control, Soft control-dial detents, Minimal hand-grip, Short battery-life, Soft aperture detents With all current XF-mount lenses

Still though, this isn’t a bad camera at all; it’s just that sometimes working with the metering may be tough and you should always ensure you charge the batteries.

The X-T2 is one of our favourite cameras at the moment, and with the X-T20 Fujifilm has managed to distill many of these key features into a slightly more compact and affordable camera that's likely to hit the sweet spot for many photographers.

  • +

Rich and detailed images, Tactile controls, Excellent handling, Advanced AF system, Film simulation modes

  • -

Limited touchscreen control, EVF magnification, Battery life could be better

My first Fujifilm product and I couldn't be happier. I struggled to find an in-depth review with candid opinions rather than just stats/facts while I was considering this camera and after purchasing, I feel compelled to write something comprehensive.

This is and incredibly capable camera. I am really impressed. I am a canon user also, so the touch screen is nice to have. I like the small, light weight of the camera and kit lens to carry around. The jpegs that come out of this camera are very good.

  • +

Small, Light weight, good image quality, fast focus, and a really good iso performance.

  • -

Tripod socket is not centered on the lens, and is very close to the battery/card door.

I have always admired photography. But unfortunately for me, most cameras just don't inspire me to get out there and shoot. That is until I got my hands on Fujifilm cameras. I love the ability to set and play with the exposure triangle settings on this camera, even while its off.

This camera invites you to interact. It is worthwhile taking the time to understand and modify the camera settings to your preferences. It is fun to use, and as has been noted, the quality of the jpeg images are excellent. Haven't yet switched to raw, so can't comment about those.

Everything about this camera lives up to the reputation and reviews. My only (very picky) comment is that you should be prepared for a camera this small to be front heavy. It will not feel as balanced in your hand as a DSLR.

I like this camera because it has the same quality as XT-2 and smaller size. just there is no jostick for focusing, but there is touch screen.I use it as second camera with 56mm 1.2 lens and it is amazing!

I've shot with Canon for many years, but when wanting to upgrade my walk-around camera (from a Canon SX50 compact) thought I'd try a Fuji, as none of the Canon mirrorless range ticked all the boxes for me. I have been so happy with my choice!Initially I was drawn to the retro look and feel.
