The camera has a $350 list price, but you can find it for less than $300. If you can sacrifice Wi-Fi, the S9800 costs even less (avoid looking for the S9400W, in hopes of getting it at a deep discount). If you want manual focus, weather resistance, and improved performance, check out Fujifilm’s S1.

  • +

50x zoom, Image stabilization works well, Bright viewfinder, Easy to operate

  • -

Noisy photos, So-so videos, No manual focus, Minor upgrades from predecessor

A 50x zoom, wi-fi and a 10 fps burst speed are among the highlighting features of the Fujifilm S9900W.

  • +

Excellent value, 50x optical zoom, 1 cm super macro mode, 10 fps burst mode, Sharp, detailed images at low ISOs

  • -

Low resolution LCD, High ISOs grainy, muted and less detailed, Tripod blocks card and battery access, Images less sharp with some fringing at full zoom

The S9900W offers WiFi, full HD video recording, dedicated buttons that ease navigation, and plenty of attractive filters. The star of the show, of course, is the powerful 50x zoom lens, which gets you up close to far-off subjects, and it performs well at shooting macro.

  • +

Powerful 50X zoom lens, Super macro focuses as close as 1cm, Records full 1080p HD video, Three high-speed video modes, Plenty of attractive filters, WiFi is easy to set up and use, Built-in flash is fairly powerful, Dedicated and customizable buttons ease navigation, AA batteries are easy to find

  • -

Auto focus can be unreliable, Images lack sharp details, especially above 10x zoom, Flash is slow to recharge (over 4 seconds), Electronic viewfinder (EVF) is small, Burst modes last only 10 frames before slowing down, Image processing is slow in burst mode, Low light performance is unimpressive,...

The bridge camera market is quite a crowded place, and unfortunately the Fujifilm Finepix S9900W isn’t a camera which particularly stands out. On the plus side, it takes good pictures (when the lighting conditions are favourable) and it has a good range of shooting modes, including manual for those...

The Fujifilm FinePix S9900W is one of the cheapest ultra zoom bridge cameras available with built in Wi-Fi and EVF. This makes it apealling particularly for those people who might be on a tight budget, and if you want a cheaper version, then the S9800 is available without Wi-Fi.

  • +

50x optical zoom lens, Electronic viewfinder with higher resolution, Built in Wi-Fi (on the S9900W), Full HD video at 60fps, Good value for money

  • -

Image quality could be better, S9800 does not feature Wi-Fi, No dedicated Wi-Fi button on the camera (although you can customis the Fn button)

I've never owned an actual camera prior to this one; I absolutely love it. It's easy to use, quick to learn, takes great photos (see attached photo with my Etsy shops watermark), and to me, has a lot of features and feels quite heavy weighted. I couldn't happier with this camera.
