Proto Series models (formerly Pro Series) are the Fender Custom Shop's proving-ground instruments, built with distinctive features typically requested for Master Built guitars and basses.Fender Custom have incorporated several such features into a special custom instrument-the 2014 Proto Telecaster, which has a hand-selected light ash body with an easy-access neck heel and an AAA birdseye maple neck with a 10/'56 profile and a smooth satin finish. Other features include a 9.5"-radius maple fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, Josefina Red Hot Tele pickups, RSD Telecaster bridge, and vintage-style tuners. Includes case.
