Epson WorkForce ET-4500 EcoTank All-in-One Inkjet Printer

Printing can be expensive. Printers themselves aren’t a basic product that all offer the same benefits, as there is efficiency and a lot of other features that come into account. A lot of times you don’t get what you’re expecting. Even the ink can get out of hand.

If you are looking for an all-in-one print/fax/scan device with wireless, the Epson WorkForce ET-4500 EcoTank may fit the bill. Designed for busy homes and small offices, Epson have provided a device that can help cut printing costs through the use of integrated high capacity ink tanks.

It's cheap to run, but the absurdly high price, poor performance and lacklustre feature-set make this something of a false economy.

If page costs are your primary concern then Epson’s EcoTank ET-4500 delivers, with running costs lower than any other inkjet we can think of. However, the rest of the machine is very low spec – more like a £60 all-in-one than one costing £300.

After searching through many printers that were or are being offered on the net and in stores, and using many of them over the years, I came to the conclusion that my 37 years of experience with printers until now, pointed me to the ET-4500.

I bought this printer and only had it for 3 weeks before returning it. Print quality was very light and faded looking. It was slower to print, and the scan feature was either too low on the quality, or so high on the file size it was a mess. It also would not allow multi tasking.

I bought about 2 months ago, the set up was easy, even though as soon as you don't spill any ink.

But in the words of Gomer Pyle, "Surprise, surprise, surprise." It was very easy to set up, even for an idiot like me.

From the start, no manual included in the box. The box was NOT previously opened or repackaged. Print quality so far is very good. Scanning and cloud printing set up was easy and great. You can even send to email or Dropbox account!

I have been using only Epson for 20 years. The print quality is superb. Also, they are as tough as a tractor, and have the look of high-end furniture. Cost of ownership with the new ET4500 ink reservoir will be better than one can imagine.

The print quality is excellent for pictures and print. I like the ink tanks. The software is finicky I have to turn it off and reset the printer way to often.

I bought this printer because of all of the hype that was surrounding it. Save money on ink and all. But this has been a bummer of a purchase. I have gotten use to the colors looking a little more washed out then my last printer.

We have had the printer for one month now, it was very easy to set up and prints great.
