With app inconsistencies, a lack of Mac compatibility, and audio performance that fails to rise above the crowd, Denon’s Heos multi-room speaker system was at best underwhelming, and at worst, downright annoying.
-
+
Big, powerful sound, Attractive form factor, Intuitive new speaker grouping feature, Responsive and easy to use EQ
-
-
App wrought with playback issues, No obvious Mac playback method, Midrange and upper register lack presence and detail, UI not as intuitive as Sonos
The Heos 7 is Denon's largest Heos wireless speaker and offers plenty of booming bass at the expense of crisp high end.
-
+
Powerful bass response. Heos app supports many popular music services. Works with both iOS and Android.

-
High-end lacks definition. Can be very finicky to use in areas with lots of Wi-Fi congestion. Clunky 3.5mm aux input.
A wireless speaker that’s simple to use and sounds good to boot
-
+
Nicely detailed, Easy to use, Balanced across frequencies, Hefty bass, Spacious

Smooth character might not be to everyone’s taste
The hardware is beautiful and sounds great. The software (on Android) makes the speaker almost unusable. Ugly, slow, dropped connections, and intrusive (requires gps location information as of the last update). What good is excellent hardware when necessary software is terrible?
This was my first HEOS speaker (no. 7 HS2). I placed it on a shelf 10 cm from the concrete wall with half a meter space to the left, right, and above. It fills the room surprisingly well. With one word, it's AMAZING. It doesn't matter where in the room I stand or even if I lay down.
For a living room it provides enough sound stage for serious listening. It is great for house parties as well. App is very easy to use and stable.
I bought this to expand the three zones of my SR7011 to four. Works like a dream and sounds fantastic. I wish the app worked with Google music service and there was a cover for it as I like to use it on my front porch.
I have two Heos 5 speakers and decided to purchase the "big boy". I have the Heos 7 at one end of the room and the two Heos 5 sat the other end. All were easy to setup and pair, and although I was expecting great sound, they are even better!
Compared to a Bose, the HEOS 7 has a much richer sound. Just wish it had handle for transport.
This is a great all purpose speaker as it sounds great at both high or low levels. Nice rich bass with solid midrange and nicely audible high range.Denon did a great job on this one.
Firstly, what great sound... their is control and depth, soundstage and fluidity that I have not heard in a single speaker for a long time... it's rich and warm. Bass can be overbearing if positioned in a dead spot.BUT....
I cannot be more happy with the sound! It absolutely booms!
