The moderately priced Dell 28 Ultra HD 4K Monitor (S2817Q) is a 28-inch Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) display that delivers razor-sharp imagery and is equipped with a solid selection of I/O ports.
Reasonably priced. Sharp 4K picture. Good selection of I/O ports. Strong audio output.
Narrow viewing angles. Skewed greens. Tilt-only stand. Limited settings.
The bottom line for the Dell S2817Q is that as a work, gaming or home office monitor, it’s a very robust choice with some great connectivity options and mostly high quality visual specs. We also love its highly affordable price.
Great USB hub, Solid contrast and brightness performance, Rich deep blacks, 4K looks great, Excellent built-in speakers
Less than stellar color performance, narrow viewing angles, no height adjustment or pivot
This is a great monitor. It allows me to view 4x more than my laptop monitor. Works as advertised. Only con is that itis not designed to be mounted on anything except the supplied stand that is too high for my liking. Not bifocal friendly so it gets 4 stars.
There are some things you need to be aware of. This is a TN panel. After a few years of using an IPS panel, I'm serious underwhelmed by the black levels. While perfectly acceptable compared to my other TN panels, the color seems a little washed out due to the brighter black level.
nice price, it's huge, speakers that just work
view angle (tn), no vesa / no vertical adjustment, control buttons
This monitor worked great for just over a year, then it went belly-up. The screen is displaying vertical lines that strobe on and off from top-to-bottom. Loose connection? No. I then tried it on a new computer--still no joy.
Monitor has very clear text with hi-res graphics.
HAD BEEN USING AN EARLIER ULTRA 24, WHICH IN ITSELF, HAS GREAT VIDEO. BUT THIS NEWER MODEL SERIES FAR SURPASSES THE ULTRA 24. THE CRISPNESS AND CLARITY ARE EXTREME, AND WHERE THEY REALLY START TO SHINE IS WITH SCREEN SAVERS.
It is amazing to be able to see the equivalent of almost three screens on one panel.
The monitor is awesome for viewing video and pics. The Black Friday price made it a great deal. I don't use it for text because I don't want to fiddle with adjusting the setting for text since I have another monitor for that. The only down side would be the buttons could be a little more sturdy.
Great monitor, amazingly clear and crisp display! 4k is more clear than real life
Great monitor. Crisp picture with little input lag.
I wish I could say that I LOVE this monitor, however, it has had troubles from the beginning. Getting all the fonts and such set so I could read the text was very challenging and still not always correct in some websites and programs.
