The Alienware Alpha sounds awesome . It's smaller and more powerful than the PS4 and Xbox One. It doubles as an actual Windows PC! But be warned: it's not as easy to use as a game console, not as foolproof. It's not nearly the slam dunk I was hoping it would be.
I highly recommend it though get at least 8 GB of memory instead of 4

Easy to set up and I was able to update to Windows 10 with no problems at all

Make sure you read up on the console part of the system or you may get confused

Great design and really small box Runs circles around traditional consoles Well-made OS and huge selection of games Complements really well the work laptop

This is a great second machine for gaming, it is not made to be your main one

It's a computer and it plays games

For the same price you could build your own desktop and would work better than this but don't expect to play all the games at Ultra
If you want a Steam Box, build your own. Avoid the Alienware Alpha, it's nothing more than a gimmick, far as I'm concerned it's a huge flop. I can't understand why Alienware would market a Gaming PC and have an OS loaded on it that doesn't want to properly update or run any games.

The system is small, compact, and very quiet. Looks really nice.

Windows 8. First thing I did when I went into Deskstop mode was run Windows Update. The larger updates (over 700mb) failed, and it just wasted time, took a long time to download, took forever to install, the install failed, and it took even longer to undo it.
Really if you need something small to game in and don't need every game maxed out this system is a no brainer. It's highly portable , quiet and powerful enough . In comparison to current Xbox one / ps4 games I would say the graphics are slightly better in most case with this system versus the home...

Excellent for factor. Let's be honest that's why you pay the premium for this computer. Sure you could build a better pc for less but nothing will match this size. It's size is similar to a dreamcast or wii. Power is decent.

Well the biggest issue is the graphics chip isn't upgradeable. Imo that means there is no need to get the i7 processor since you probably run into bottlenecks at the gpu before CPU at least for gaming, which is why you buy this machine. I also would have liked to see a faster ssd in the system.
