Without a doubt, DJI’s Phantom 4 Pro is one of the best drones in existence today — if not the best. It’s the only drone with omnidirectional obstacle avoidance, and the camera outdoes every other drone in this class.
-
+
5-direction obstacle avoidance, Excellent camera, Plentiful flight modes, Long flight time, Outstanding range
-
-
Optional touchscreen controller is a $300 add-on
The price puts it just outside of "entry level," but the Phantom 4 Pro is a no-brainer if you're serious about drone photography.
-
+
Camera features, easy-to-master flight controls and upgrades on the previous generation prove that DJI knows what it's doing.
-
-
Sticker price and investing in additional batteries means the Phantom 4 Pro doesn't come cheap.
The DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone adds additional obstacle sensors and a vastly improved camera to the already stellar Phantom 4.
-
+
Long-distance control. Return-to-home. Forward and rear obstacle detection. Automated flight modes. High-performance Sport mode. 24mm lens. Subject recognition and tracking. 60fps 4K video. 20MP Raw and JPG images. 1-inch sensor camera.
-
-
Pricey. Side sensors limited in functionality. Must supply smartphone or tablet for camera control.
We like the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. Particularly the Phantom 4 Pro+. It is a well built, well spec’d and easy to operate machine that produces near-pro level video and some solid still photos. We see why it is still being offered as the leader in the Phantom line of drones.
They are a class apart, and yet close enough for comparison, this is our DJI Mavic Pro vs Phantom 4 Pro review. One is very portable, one has a superb camera, which do you buy?
If you want the best consumer drone around, look no further. It might not be as nimble and portable as a Mavic, but it makes up for that by being powerful, reliable and longer lasting.

Obsidian's dark colour makes it easy to see against sky, Footage is smooth and stable, Great feature list, Long battery life for this kind of product
-
-
Not as portable as a DJI Mavic Pro, It's very expensive
Simple to fly and much improved over the Phantom 2 (previous model I owned). Lightweight but can still tolerate reasonable winds. Improved fastening and quick release of propellers to rotors. POV works well with the app on your phone and tablet.
-
+
Easy to flyHigh quality of photo / videoManual control over many flying and photography featuresProtective case included
-
-
Fixed landing gear (not collapsable)Not easily transported without additional travel gear
I have this and a P4P. This is quieter, better range and seems to autofocus better and quicker. Still exploring other improvements, only have about 6 hours on it to date. Very happy so far and as of yet not had any of DJI's firmware issues.
Good specs and image quality, but it's just to much reliability problems. Since last app update I can't fly anymore. It's just not possible to have a working tool that's working just with chance. And DJI after sale support is just a disaster. Forget this brand!
Many users are experiencing a slow yaw while sitting stationary in the air. This is especially troublesome while taking a long exposure photo or video.I bought the P4Pv2 shortly after release and experienced the yaw issue.
It works as advertised. Setup is goofy, would not connect until I cycled the USB cord to device. Took hours to figure that out. Works great after the first time.
Instructions and videos were vague, screen is hard to see outside, and battery life is to short, but takes great photos, and handles great while battery lasts
Not sure why people call this a prosumer drone. In my opinion, this is DJI's best quadcopter..particularly for what you pay for it. Incredibly sophisticated drone that i would buy again and again and again
I've never had an issue with this drone. Reliable, smooth flights with a wonderful camera. The color profiles are fantastic and it's a breeze to operate both for fun and on professional shoots. The batteries are a bit expensive.
First drone. 1" sensor. Good glass. Great 20mp photos and 4k 60fps video. Easy to operate. The case that comes with works well for drone and three batteries (2 extra batteries - buy them instead of a case you don't need).
