We Bought this product because it was not as loud as my other grinder which we have had for quite some time meaning more than 3 years, this year be works well but uses twice as much coffee beans to brew a Medium Roast pot. Same coffee maker , same Coffee Beans, New Grinder
I bought this to help me to grind spices and also coffee. I find that small grains are not its thing. It leaves a very coarse grained powder(fish) residue. The result of the blades being a loose fit inside the bowl. It works as a coffee grinder for the most part, but I find that too is very coarse.
We've had a few other coffee grinders besides this one, too. None of them are as durable or attractive as this one, and this one has the best motor by far. As I wrote, we're going to continue to buy and use this model grinder until Cuisinart stops making them.

Grinds coffee. That's it's job. We have had three of these coffee grinders over ten years. We've only had two real problems with them all this time. First, I managed to burn out a motor on one of them by overfilling the bowl with beans.

There is no way to grind the coffee to a consistent size. I listen for the motor to spin to a certain pitch, and watch the grounds as they spin, to determine when the coffee has finished being ground. I stop when the grinds rise and fall in place around the edge -- I like the grounds to be fine.
It is a lot of work for the morning to get fresh ground beans. Although it does the job, its a bit of a grind.

It is a bit of a grind to use this grinder.

This unit is a lovely little machine that knows it doesn't need bells and whistles to be fabulous. It is quiet (an essential for my small house in which resides 5 year and old) and I can brew up freshly ground in the earliest of hours. Its cord winds up inside the unit for easy storage.
I use my Grind Central daily and find it easy to use and it does a great job.

Attractive, quiet and easy to use.

When using the storage lid, the top will not fit down over the bowl.
It doesn’t allow you to select how finely ground you want your coffee. Apparently the blade has to be replaced every so often. When I found out that, I gave my other grinder a good cleaning instead of discarding it, and It’s working perfectly now!
We got our coffee grinder a month ago and want to share our feelings about the unit. The design is great and looks very smart on our coffee bar. The first use was interesting as the noise level was bearable and not too loud. To grid to what is optimal for us takes about 27 seconds.
Look elsewhere -- This one's not worth the money.
