The Canon PowerShot SX710 HS is a speedy superzoom with a sharp lens, but image quality is an issue at even moderate ISO sensitivities.

Compact. 30x zoom lens. Quick focus. Creative Shot mode. Crisp rear LCD. Zoom framing assist function. 6.3fps continuous shooting. Wi-Fi. 1080p60 video recording.

Detail suffers at moderate ISOs.
The Canon PowerShot SX710 HS provides some nice features that make it a good option as a travel camera. It's thin enough to fit in a pocket, while providing an impressive 30x optical zoom range.

Camera performs faster than many point-n-shoot cameras, Having 30x optical zoom in thin camera body is great for travel, Images are sharp in most shooting circumstances, Fast continuous shot mode, Minimal problems with shutter lag, other than when shooting at full optical zoom or with flash, Full HD...

Some problems with noise at mid- to high-ISO ranges, Camera's performance slows considerably when making use of the flash, Larger image sensor would be nice at this price point and would help image quality, No touch screen LCD, On-screen menu structure could use an upgrade, Some settings are...
Canon's PowerShot SX710 fixed lens camera provides quite a collection of impressive features for a relatively thin point and shoot model, offering more than 20 megapixels of resolution, a high speed image processor, and wireless connectivity, all in a model that's less than 1.5 inches in thickness.
Canon's Powershot SX710 HS travel zoom is better than ever, but with tradeoffs
The PowerShot SX710 HS is a perfectly capable camera for those who just want a point and shoot with a long zoom range, but it can't shoot raw files, which will limit its appeal for enthusiasts.
Canon has increased the number of megapixels in this model to 20 megapixels, perhaps to "beat" the 18 megapixel TZ60 and match the 20 megapixel HX60, whilst other companies have reduced from 18 to 12 megapixels (TZ70), as an increase in megapixels may look good on paper, but can reduce image...

Good colour and exposure, 1080p HD video at 60fps with IS, Creative shot mode, Wireless connectivity, Remote control function, Excellent 1cm macro mode, 3inch screen with 922k dots, 30x zoom lens, 8fps burst mode

Zoom assist mode seems strangely implemented, Corners can be a little soft at wide angle end of the zoom, Lacks panoramic mode, Little has changed from previous model, although battery life reduced, Previous version had high speed video modes
Virtually identical to last year's SX700 HS model, the new Canon PowerShot SX710 HS takes a few minor steps forward, namely faster burst shooting rates, more Auto Zoom options and 5-axis stabilisation for video, but one major step back, offering worse image quality than its predecessor.
I'm a newly retired news photographer and needed a small lightweight camera with a zoom to take hiking with me. Very happy with the quality of the photos and the zoom. It's so small and light, easy to pull out of a pouch on the front of my backpack and not miss a mountain goat or grizzly bear!
I bought this SX710 HS because I was looking for a long zoom, plus great macro camera and had read good reviews on this plus a bonus it was on sale. A dslr is too heavy and bulky for my bad wrists.
I love my new camera. Colors are beautiful. I'm still testing scenes such as snow, moon in the night and day, and can't wait to try fireworks. The snow feature did turn out better than on auto. It has everything I want and need in a camera except it doesn't have a panoramic feature.
This camera’s image quality is compromised at the long end. Sharpness drops off steeply for the second half of the zoom range. Not just the VERY end (that’s expected), but almost the whole second half.
This is an amazing compact travel camera. Due to the high quality of the optics and the easy ability to override the already fine auto functions all the way to full manual if needed (rarely) I find that I seldom feel the need to bring my bulkier DSLR along.
